conflating time lines is accurate? how so? floyd could have fought margarito who was #1 for 8 million but he fought sharmba for 4 and zab for 5. why even bring up the williams loss which hadn't happened yet?

also he couldn't fight cotto when cotto was a big star and a top guy at 147 because he lived too far away? then he retired when it was the biggest fight in boxing. forget that? oh he wanted to fight unproven cotto at 140 so that excuses his duck at 147?

we can go way back to 135 and see how hbo wanted floyd to fight stevie johnston but floyd wanted easy fights. there's articles on that but lets just forget that...

pac agreed to testing in 2010 so why didn't they fight for 5 years? because he didn't agree to testing in 2009 isn't a reason. if it was the testing why didn't it happen in 2010, 11, 12, etc...did you forget the 40 millino flat offer roadblock? lots of forgetting and changing of events going on here but i guess thats the only way to defend his long line of ducking. reality isn't so kind to him

And don't forget guys unheard of like all around nobody chris algieri. Or fighting dudes 3 times so you don't have to take on real challengers.

Again you are historically inaccurate. Pac agreed to unlimited urine testing (totally useless) and blood testing after the fight. Again useless. As for the cheato fight floyd refused to allow arum to rob him like he does pac. Floyd knew he should get paid more something todays fighters are just now picking up. Look at the pac fight floyd said he wanted 100 million and dudes laughed and calked him crazy. But he made over 300 million. So whose laughing now? And roach is ON RECORD SAYING FLOYD WOULD HAVE BEAT PAC. So who did the ducking? And AGAIN floyd signed the contract back in 09. Again WHY DIDN'T PAC SIGN??????? Because arum used a b.s. lawsuit to duck floyd and make all those cheap low budget in house fights where he made boat liads of dough. So again, who DUCKED WHO?? We speculated way back in 2009 that arum wouldn't make the floyd fight until pac was all used up and thats exactly what happened.

Why do you keep lying about the Margarito situation..Floyd was offered that fight, and instead bought out his contract with Arum because Arum refused to arrange the oscar fight and pay Floyd what he wanted..Floyd never turned Margo down and fought Shamba Mitchell

Pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. rejected promoter Bob Arum's $8 million offer to fight welterweight titlist Antonio Margarito, and he instead exercised a provision in his contract to buy Arum out and become a promotional free agent, Arum told ESPN.com on Monday.

According to Arum, Mayweather turned down the career-best purse to meet Margarito on Aug. 12 on HBO Pay-Per-View, instead opting for free agency by buying Arum out of their deal for $750,000.

"I did hear from him," Arum said of Mayweather. "He decided not to fight this summer. I made him a tremendous offer. I think Margarito is the riskiest fight for him of anyone out there."

Mayweather adviser Leonard Ellerbe told ESPN.com that Mayweather passed on the fight not because he is ducking Margarito, but because he couldn't be ready to fight by Aug. 12. Mayweather injured his right hand during a dominating April 8 victory against Zab Judah.

"Floyd is not 100 percent healthy," Ellerbe said. "He has a bruised right hand. His hand is not broken. It's bruised, but it's a bad bruise. He wants to go into any fight 100 percent healthy. If Antonio Margarito happens to be the best available option when he is healthy, so be it.

"We are not turning down Margarito. I want to make that crystal clear. When and if he is the best available option for Floyd's next fight, that's the direction he will move in."

they know that their fans are so brainwashed that floyd and his dad can now openly state they are cherry picking and it doesn't matter. in the past they used to hide, deny, ask for 20 millino to fight marg etc...but now they aren't going to lose that core fanbase no matter what. its similar to trump's support. they aren't trying to win over everyone, just these people who simply don't care about facts or about fighting the best. they just want to bask in floyd's glory even if it comes 5 years too late or through hypothetical wins.

Floyd did not ask for 20 million to fight Margo..another damn lie by you

                Straight from Arums mouth

Arum stated that Mayweather would have fought Margarito for the 8 million, but he wanted a guaranteed 10 million to fight Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton. Arum only guaranteed him 7 million. And for those who don’t know Cotto and Hatton were at the Mayweather-Gatti fight and Cotto was ranked number 5 by the ring at the time (Proof: Listen to the commentary Jim Lampley at the end of round 5) . Cotto had just moved up to the 140 pound weight class and he didn’t make an offer to fight Mayweather after the Gatti fight.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn’t interested in participating in. “That’s not in the cards,” Arum said. “He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It’s not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold ’em and when to fold ’em. We’ll talk about things down the road.” Notice this part Arum was talking.

and even with the lawsuit, he still could have signed the contract and fought floyd. But roach and arum knew the outcome would be disastrous for their plans to promote pac as invincible. Arum even set up a countdown clock when he already had pacs fights lined up. It is no coincidence that pac only fought top rank fighters. And if you wanted to fight pac, you had to sign with top rank.

ok this is a very emotional post and i respect that this topic makes you so emotional but emotions don't change facts. they tried to make the fight many times after the first negotiations but floyd kept changing his demands/making new ones. do your research. i have. we have gone over this many many times. floyd finally ended up basically giving up after pac kept meeting his demands so he said pac can only get 40 million withot ppv money. not a realistic offer at all. you know that wasn't legit. in the end it finally took cbs forcing floyd to fight manny for the fight to be made.
