The only question in a Froch Calzaghe fight would be if Froch could manage to win one single round in the comprehensive boxing lesson he'd be given.

What does a Froch/Calzaghe fight have to do with determining the greater fighter?

Quite a lot actually, if an older Calzaghe had fought a prime Froch and beaten him then I doubt we would be having a discussion on who is the better fighter.

Froch's greatest win was arguably against Kessler and people seem to forget that he lost to a prime Kessler before that. Calazaghe was old when he fought a prime Kessler and beat him comfortably.

I'm not a Calzaghe fan, I personally thought he lost to Hopkins and I remember the Bika fight being very close. But he would have boxed Froch's head off.

Boxing doesn't work that way. You can be a greater fighter than another while losing quite handily to said fighter.

Barrera/Junior Jones is a good example.

I understand where you coming from in that one fight doesn't determine the greatness of a fighter. But as I already said an old Calazaghe beat a young, prime Kessler (Probably Froch's greatest victory). Kessler also fought a higher caliber of fighter than Calzaghe. Ward on his Resume alone makes it better. He also beat a prime Froch but you dont hear anyone claiming Kessler is a greater fighter than Calzaghe because Calzaghe already beat him.

My point is would we even be having this conversation had Calzaghe fought and beat Froch before he retired? I dont think so, but if you want to just look at resume's:

Ward beat Froch in fact he dominated him, so Ward being on his resume means very little. It's not like the fight was close.

Dirrell beat Froch and was robbed and despite being a very good boxer I think the Degale fight showed he's not quite as good as people originally thought.

Kessler: Beat Froch in his prime then lost to him later on.

Jermaine Taylor: Washed up by the time he fought Froch, was winning before he made a mistake.

                    Pascal: Good win.

                    Johnson: Ancient

                    Abraham: Lol

People are often critical of Calazaghe for fighting Jones and Hopkins so late (he fought Hopkins when he was 36 and Hopkins was 43 and I think he just turned 37 when he fought 39 year old Jones).

Hopkins was past his prime yet after that fight he destroyed Pavlik, destroyed Pascal (One of Frcoh's best wins) and is still fighting top level opponents so clearly he wasnt that over the hill when Calzaghe fought him.

At the end of the day it works both ways, Froch had guys on his resume who werent in their prime when he fought them or he was gifted a decision in the Dirrell case. Calzaghe would not have beaten a prime Jones or Hopkins, in fact he should have lost to hopkins.
