I turned my TV on start of 7th the round and I thought theopane was winning, he seemed to be outboxing the punch bag broner.
If I was to guess who was winning I would have imagined thepane was up 6 rounds

Only early stoppage in boxing is death. Nick Blackwell is proof positive of how fine the margins in the ring are. We as fans may think the stoppage was early, but Ashley's wife likely wouldn't and doesn't.

Pabon took the hand wave by Theophane to be a white flag gesture

I hate them too but with dude still in an induced coma after the Eubank fight I think refs were told to go in early rather than late.

              This right here.

Even as a fan, my desire to see a guy take an unnecessary beating has diminished.

Theophane's hand gesture was the universal sign meaning to stop. If he wanted to complain about the low blow he shoulda tapped his testicles to indicate such. I'd have done what the ref did. Theophane asked for the stoppage. Period.
