Such a bad night for Finnish HWs. :wah1: Juho Haapoja also got KTFO on the same card.

Johann has the makings of a great gatekeeper. That chin is cast iron and he's actually a big guy with long reach with some skills. He will give anyone in the division a very tough fight.

Wilder is pretty good. People shouldn't be surprised that people he beats are actually good themselves and can get good wins. He has a lot of flaws but he's very explosive.

Even Lyakhovich proved he wasn't as shot as everyone thought in going the distance with Ruiz shortly afterwards.

And Nikolai Firtha was only one of a handful of men to rock the world heavyweight champion (and go the distance with Povetkin).

forget wilder for a minute though...this man fights hard. duhaupas trains his a$$ off and to be called a bum by guys on nsb is ridiculous.
You're right. It must feel like a thankless job, being a decent fighter who goes through all that work to get to that level and then people just spit on you like you're a worthless nobody.

What this fight proved was that Helenius was the fighter that many on this site thought. He was just a big stiff European level HW. I mean this guy couldn't even Knockout Michael Sprott ffs. Sprott's been KOed 16 times in his career and Helenius couldn't even finish him. If it wasn't for the gift decision he got against Chisora, this guy would be out of the sport by now.
helenius has a glass chin being do-slap-us KO'd him

I didn't catch the fight yesterday but I have been watching clips on youtube of the fight. Helenius never really got his mojo back after numerous layoffs in last several years. He put on a lot of extra weight as a result his movement declined and his punches don't have the 'snap' they once did. But credit to Duhaupas for that gritty and 'grind out' performance where he took some good shots but was effective with his comeforward pressure offense.

Here's some clips of the fight:

Judging from those highlights Helenius had a lot of good moments in the fight. Hardly looked like "a shell of himself" as others are trying to categorize his performance.

Great win for Duhaupas. He deserves full credit.

Helenius is a good combination puncher as we saw in the clips but he was pushing his punches rather than snapping them out with force and speed. Maybe this loss will wake him out and make him work harder in the gym.
