Punchers are born and made. Anyone can improve their punching power through training and improvement of technique. Conversely, naturally heavy handed guys can lose power through crappy technique. Combine the two elements of heavy handedness and great technique and you have a truly fearsome puncher.

There is always a certain innate element in it. Someone like Paulie Malignaggi would never be a hard hitter no matter what he did, while Maidana would always hit like a truck. But there isn't a huge difference in human physiognomy, and anyone can, potentially, hit with bad intentions if that's their goal and they focus at it. Many boxers don't since it's too big a trade off for their particular style. Mayweather, for instance, hits as hard as he is able to without sacrificing his balance, positioning, timing etc. It's simply not in his best interests to throw full power shots when he can sit back and pot shot with minimal danger of return fire.

Joshua's got a huge hype machine behind him so of course he's going to enjoy favourable odds at the bookies if he keeps knocking over his overmatched opponents. If you think Joshua is just a hype machine your gonna be in for a rude awakening my son....Joshua is big powerful and throws with great speed and his punch selection in combinations is probably the best in the world....I don't often get carried away with fighters but with Joshua I see he has all the atributes of becoming a really good fighter and he has a Nast street as well....look as I said I will quite gladly place a bet with you and winner takes it all......you stick with fury and I'll take Joshua .....all I know is when Joshua catches fury then it's gonna be good night Charlie ....I couldn't give a toss about the klitchcko fight.....it was not a good fight....but we're see soon enough
