Both are linked, how can you tell how good a fighter is if they don't fight anyone?

Yeah it was meant as a joke. I'm a GGG fan, but he is nowhere NEAR the top 24 fighters of the last 25 years. He has the potential, in theory, but he is already old enough that he likely runs out of time before he does much besides make a lot of money fighting C level opponents and an occasional big name here or there. Which is unfortunate.

Top 50 perhaps, I'm not sure.

Very good list btw , I would surely add Lewis , Ward and Ricardo Lopez.

Arguably Kostya Tszyu, Carbajal and Michael Moorer.

Don't get your draws in a wrinkle boys!
Yes it would be easier to define GGG if he had a bunch of proven veterans on his record but his mandatory's are first in line and he has success.

For me I look to see his methods & techniques he uses to apply his methods.
He along with Chocolatito, Rigo, Lomo and Crawford all follow up with excellent technique to be able to apply their methodology. Rigo is more of a pure boxer but if he decided to step up his offense his punches could have more meaning.

I never cared for the boxing fans that hate men they don't even know. Those folks always seem to dwindle when confronted about yelling for some one to die! The ones that hate the most are always *****'s and punks, funny how that happens.

I evaluate boxers by their science and then their physical abilities and then their willingness to press on in every round.
Others like to read records and have favorite colored trunks........ha!

I see people arguing the presence of Golovkin in that list and it amazes me. Someone also that that even Jacobs has a better resume than GGG. Think about both fighters and tell do you really believe that Jacobs is the better fighter? Think about Canelo and GGG, 90% of the world sees that too as a one sided fight for GG and to add the cowardly attitude of Canelo only proving the fact that GGG is above him.
Martinez clearly ducked GGG indirectly forfeiting the match, its an injustice to have martinez even on par with golovkin let alone having him above him.

As someone said, he is clearly the best MW if the decade

Statements like Jacobs has a better resume than GGG shows the clear bias of some posters. Sad fact is they don't realize how ****** they appear when posting that and it effects the way people look at their opinion.

When James Toney is saying someone is the best MW since him, it's saying a lot.
