Comments Thread For: DeGale Open To 175 Move, Confident of Beating Adonis Stevenson
IBF super middleweight champion James DeGale (22-1 14 KOs) is getting prepared for his upcoming defense against Rogelio Medina (36-3, 30 KOs), but he has bigger goals on his mind. [Click Here To Read More]
DeGale has shown a good chin at 168 against fighters by whom he should not have been getting hit, but elite Stevenson/Kovalev-type power up at 175 is something else. Him vs Ward would be interesting, though.
I think DeGale and is smart/skilled enough to avoid that straight left and take a decision. I'd love to see this fight, I actually think he outboxes Stevenson easier than he outboxes Jack, it's just Stevenson has that explosiveness and the power to end things at any moment that Jack doesn't have.
Lol, keep dreaming. Stevenson would knock him out. I dont like the way Stevenson turned his career since he 's with Haymon, like most of you . He 's fighting bum and he's a shame even here in Montreal. But I was there when he was 8 to 1 underdog against Chad Dawson at the Bell Center and I got to say this : I never tought a clean 1st round knockout could provided as much energy as there was at that very moment . It was the biggest adrenaline rush (at a sport event ) I experienced. When Stevenson connects his left hand, everybody in the building hear it .
That being said, I was also there at Degale's Last fight and he did not impressed me at all. Bute started very slowly and those rounds were his best. Bute clearly had more energy than him in the last rounds and beside the "funny faces" , he was doing nothing but run. Bute never get rocked, not even once . Good luck with Stevenson . I'll be there foh sure.
I think DeGale is capable of beating Stevenson, but I'm glad he's being realistic and accepting that he will need to pick his opponents carefully at 175.
I guess, as he isn't American, that makes Chunky a cherry-picking hypocrite to some stools at this place, but fuck them.
