Comments Thread For: Haye To Shannon Briggs: If You Pass Your Medicals, I'll Fight You

DAVID HAYE has pledged to give Nicky Blackwell around 50,000 to help the stricken boxer when he leaves hospital. The former world heavyweight champion will donate 10 per cent of ticket sales for his second comeback fight against Arnold Gjergjaj on May 21 at London's O2 Arena.

Haye doesn't want to risk losing to middle aged bummy Briggs, it would entirely derail his comeback. Briggs should just try to get as many fight in the UK as possible, apparently Eddie Hearn is willing to help him over the next few months.

It's all an act!! This fight has already been arranged. Haye & his backers pay for Briggs to come over to England and act the fool, looking for Haye, calling him out etc. Haye pretends to not be interested, knocks out that bum and then agrees to fight Briggs because the public are 'demanding' it. The British casuals will lap it all up. Haye vs Briggs, sky sports PPV at the end of the year, guaranteed.

Briggs should move over here permanently. Us Brits love a character like him.

Im not sure if he'd get hit with 2 tax bills though as a US citizen?

No idea tbh mate. Briggs is a boss, he rolled into that Haye press conference like it was his own back garden.

Anyone who mugs the Toebreaker off to his face is alright in my book. They're both in on it tho.

                  Lets go champ.

But its classy of Haye to donate $ to Blackwell. Its very unlikely that Nick will be cleared to fight again.

It was a nice gesture, but let's not pretend that Haye really gives a ****, it's a PR exercise for him.

Haye is currently rebranding himself as the good guy of British boxing, presumably to combat Tyson Fury who markets himself as the villian, and to emulate the Anthony Joshua "humble bro" model.

Haye cares about his check, he doesn't give a crap about boxing or its participants.

This is what Haye really thinks of his fellow fighters.
