I could be wrong, but he's not a big name despite his success. Why move out of the weight class you plan on staying in unless it's for big $? GGG (or his trainer - I don't remember) said some things that appeared hypocritical, but I understand the planned career trajectory

I don't think you have a clue kid.

If I decide to check your post-history, like I did with a couple of other asshat's on this site..... what will I find ?

It is absurd that they won't even negotiate with Canelo, especially after recently stating that Golovkin can beat anyone at 154..... AND after admitting that they would drop to 157 for Kell Brook.

It appears that they want to avoid Canelo, and are relying on the WBC to strip him.

I have said it before, the excuses for Golovkin's underwhelming resume are absurd..... simply because the notable name opponents are not ducking Golovkin, the lesser guys are.

The guys who are avoiding Golovkin are not top names..... Saunders/Jacobs, etc..... but the guys who Golovkin COULD have fought, but CHOSE not too, are MUCH bigger names..... Ward/Cotto/Canelo, even Lara is more well-known and rated much higher than his current victims.

Golovkin appears to be chasing the B/C guys, but avoiding the A guys.

Golovkin has the exact resume he wanted, or he would change it.

On what planet will he land big fights by being unwilling to negotiate ?

They don't want to mention Lara, and they won't negotiate with Cotto/Canelo/Ward.

There is nobody else, he has the exact resume he wanted, minus a couple of B guys.

It appears that they are building Golovkin's legacy off belt collection (vacant/stripped are fine) and retiring undefeated, despite facing nobody of note..... which is fkn lame, especially compared to someone like Ward, who just moved on to BIGGER and BETTER things.

I bet you think that Golovkin would have beaten Ward at 168, am I right ?

If you think Manny landed the most clean punches, then it's you who are biased. They ranked Floyd at #9, just behind Tommy Hearns. I think that's fair! If you read the article, you know the guy does not like Floyd as a person, but he had to give him his props for his excellence in the ring! You should too.

And as for the fight I don't care if it's a mandatory for a belt that doesnt mean crap in todays boxing landscape. he's 34 years old, has no big fights, no names, no legacy, and should be trying to be great and chasing a big fight. if you cannot get one then you go find one. instead he's sitting back waiting, begging and wasting his time. And thats ok cause its his career

That kid is a pac-spastic/golovtard, just like the rest of them.

          • Lol Floyd should keep his mouth shut about fighting GGG even though I know he was probably asked the question, he won't fight GGG, he should just say 'Never, he's too big'. Also, it makes no sense to send GGG all the way up to 175 or where ever that fight would hypothetically take place, and then Golovkin comes back down to 154. Not gonna happen. I see this is as Mayweather just looking out for Andre Ward, mentioning his name because he may have seen Ward talking nice about him.

The DSG fight makes more sense, he's a WW, he holds a title, he has an undefeated record, and he is a name opponent.

            • I don't understand all these terms Floyd throws down to fight him? What supermiddle did hagler have to fight to get a fight with Duran?
GGG is the 160 superstar, the celebrated and decorated one. Floyd gains more by beating GGG @ 160 then GGG will get by beating Floyd. GGG will be accused of bloating Floyd up. But GGG won't mind that!
So stop making excuses Floyd we heard them all before.

                Kid? ok...

No, I think Ward would've won. I am an objective fan all the way around.

and you can check my history, you'll find I don't result to name calling either... ok then.

You really think that Cotto would've fought GGG - it's kind of hard to even debate with you if you say things that are just blatantly untrue like that. When did he have an opportunity for that fight and avoided it - seriously, when?

When did GGG say he'd drop to 157 for Brook, I honestly must've missed that one.

Re: the fight with Canelo, you really think GGG doesn't want it or you think he just doesn't want to cut weight since he's the mandatory and canelo will have to vacate if he doesn't take it. Ultimately, I think the fight should probably get made at 158. That would be a fair weight to both fighters. Right now, they're both posturing- Canelo saying he wont go above 155 and GGG saying he wont go below 160. It makes sense - no need to give up anything in negotiations through the media

                • GGG/DDD(Diva Ducking Daily)

Hilarious , even retired fighters taking shots at the biggest joke/hypejob/fraud in boxing today!
Golovchicken can make 152 for Floyd but won't dare make 155 for CANELO, cause he knows he would not only get outboxed but body-bagged , Golovchicken is a coward but he's not dumb!

Ward vs Golovchicken = Ward by KO
Money Mayweather vs Golovchicken = Money May by 12-0 decision
CANELO vs Golovchicken = CANELO by KO

^but these are all hypothetical matches cause Golovchicken is a straight up *****(the truth is out)

I am 38 and Am I one of the few who doesn't understand why we can't debate boxing without ridiculous name calling and insults? It's kind of pathetic
