so rubio earned the fight because cotto passed? Sounds like the opportunity wasn't earned but it presented itself due to gg not willing to face ward at 168 but more than eager to go at it against a retired froch at the same weight.

Ahh yes, to earn a shot like rubio did.

    • so now ward has moved up mayweather says he will fight GGG if he beats Ward knowing full well that fight won't happen now. And we all know garcia is tailor made for floyd

Most of those are 168 lb fighters. A real boxing head will tell you that you should never penalize a fighter for not moving up in weight aka Hagler and Hopkins.
You really think GGG wouldn't rather fight Jacobs. That's one name you mentioned that would've been good fight, maybe Lara too. I seem to think that PBC wouldn't be interested in they're fighters fighting a non-PBC fighter on HBO b/c idk, they just don't do that. Maybe he should've tried, but from what I hear, they would've never happened

Lee? see my post above - he's beaten a lot of guys of that caliber at 160 already

The difference being that Froch brought a lot more $ to the table than Ward did, right?

GGG is the 160 superstar, the celebrated and decorated one. Floyd gains more by beating GGG @ 160 then GGG will get by beating Floyd. GGG will be accused of bloating Floyd up. But GGG won't mind that!
So stop making excuses Floyd we heard them all before.

              AHAHAHAH

                oh, no doubt...point being?

I mean Ward hasn't fought anyone who is even a legit top 10 contender since '13 and I think has 3 fights in 5 years. He should be making up for lost time

No, I think Ward would've won. I am an objective fan all the way around.

and you can check my history, you'll find I don't result to name calling either... ok then.

You really think that Cotto would've fought GGG - it's kind of hard to even debate with you if you say things that are just blatantly untrue like that. When did he have an opportunity for that fight and avoided it - seriously, when?

When did GGG say he'd drop to 157 for Brook, I honestly must've missed that one.

Re: the fight with Canelo, you really think GGG doesn't want it or you think he just doesn't want to cut weight since he's the mandatory and canelo will have to vacate if he doesn't take it. Ultimately, I think the fight should probably get made at 158. That would be a fair weight to both fighters. Right now, they're both posturing- Canelo saying he wont go above 155 and GGG saying he wont go below 160. It makes sense - no need to give up anything in negotiations through the media

OK, I will..... you talked me into it.

Go on record now, is case I pull your knickers down later.....

                  ..... did you support manny-weight ?

Have you defended Pacquiao's catchweights ? YES, or NO ?

Be honest, nobody can hide their post-history and I am a fkn detective when it comes to that ****.

Go on record, before I check..... YES, or NO ?

I am 38 and Am I one of the few who doesn't understand why we can't debate boxing without ridiculous name calling and insults? It's kind of pathetic

And you're even dumber. A poster on nsb projects his own thoughts/wishes on Floyd and you run with it as if Floyd said it himself, that's just pure idiocy.

Floyd never said nothing bout 150 or 154 for that matter. Everytime I heard Floyd talk about GGG he either doesn't mention weight class or talks about 160.

I would dare you to find a link to an article where Floyd talks about 154, 150, or 147, if I thought you had a chance of finding one. However, I know you won't because Floyd has never even insinuated any of those weight class. He only talks about fighting GGG at 160.

However, given that he once defended Canelo's 155 stance, I get the feeling he did that to justify dragging GGG down to 155 should GGG fight Canelo at that weight and win. However, that's just mere speculation, the FACT however is that he only talks about fighting GGG at 160 or doesn't mention weight at all.
