How did Floyd neaturlize Hatton?

They get so caught up in how well Mayweather fights off the back foot that his inside game, which is exceptional, escapes them. That short right uppercut to the body is one of Mayweather's overlooked punch, and it's the reason Maidana threw a knee. I mean, he killed Hatton with that punch.Comment

The ring post/turnbuckle just sent me a text!Floyd was able to identify the cracks and target them. It was a very disciplined fight on his part. Can be said of so many of his fights though. He was very focused and didn't sway from implementing his game. Not as exciting as seeing someone decide to slug it out but it is what it is. Breaking down Hatton produced a brilliant KO that's possibly the highlight of his career.

Whenever Hatton truly made it on the inside and had an opportunity to lay some damage, Floyd would clinch like a mother****er. That or grab his ****in head/sneakingly leading off with his forearm.Comment

The problem is that he didn't let Hatton work when he had a hand free, it was instabreak with Hatton eating punches every time he worked his way in, combined with Cortez completely ignoring Floyds even blatant by his own standards use of his elbow and forearm.
Floyd could have beaten Hatton clean, because Hatton was never really that good, but Ricky was finally on the other end of a bad refereeing job.
Now he knows how Kostya felt. Except Kostya was a great fighter.Comment

Thats what a lot of peoples problem is, you do body work early, and it pays late. When your whole game is to get inside and work the body, and the ref doesn't let you do it early, then your whole game plan is out the window.Neutralise boy... you spelled it wrong twice lol
And I agree, down the stretch Floyd got stronger but on the inside, early on, Hatton was going well but the ref kept getting in his way. Then it came down to superior skill and May was too good for Hatton.
Not a bad effort on Hatton's account though, considering he was moving up and more than held his own for almost 5 rounds.
He was never going to outskill Floyd. He had to make it a rough fight, **** his body, make it ugly like Maidana did.
He had to take punishment every time he got inside, and was pulled back outside every time he got in.
Never got to put in the body work, just ate punches.Comment
