There were long stretches where Cortez let them fight on the inside anyway. And it's clear as day that Floyd was in another league to Hatton in that area.

Take Round 5 for example, Floyd (likely taking the round off) literally spent the entire round on the ropes with Hatton on his chest, Hatton won the round because Floyd did nothing but he didn't do any damage at all to Floyd.

Cortez obviously lost control at the fast pace and constant grappling between the two, and he obviously broke them at times when he shouldn't have. But it's foolish to suggest he broke the action EVERY time they were inside. It's simply not true.

I agree..it just makes me laugh how some posters refuse to give Floyd any credit for that fight or any other

I sure hope you mean neutralise.

Anyway, Floyd was having a tough fight in the first 4-5 rounds and Hatton was as relentless as always. He was really going in rough but with a little help from the ref and superior hand speed/foot work, Floyd started to counter Hatton and then, beat him up. It really was a good fight, if ugly at times. Mayweather came good in the end.

Told me all I needed to know.

                  Go to the 26:45 mark:

I miss watching Oscar and Hopkins ringside jumping with excitement every time Floyd would get hit and then sitting back with disappointment every time Floyd wins They've always hated Floyd

I'm watching now. Floyd is much stronger than Hatton.
