Do you think the fighters live off the less than 10k they make for those shows? Fighters have contracts with Promoters which pay then a set amount a year for fights. Often the amount owed is larger than what solo boxeo or other networks offer, leaving the promoter to cover the rest. This of course results in losses. The promoter hopes in time the fighter will be able to recover those loses. Sometimes they do, but many times they don't.

If Promoters didn't lose any money or it was as easy as getting solo and HBO to pay, then everyone would do it.
You're an idiot... Top Rank might give a fighter an advance but a monthly stipend ain't gonna happen.

A manager like Cameron Dunkin would take care of the monthly stipend, NOT Top Rank.

    SMH at these rookie idiots.

            Stop what?

Abusing this whiny two-bit former boxing promoter who moans incessantly about Haymon "over-investing" in boxing while at the same time crying about how "money losing" the prospect building game is?

Also, sometimes even height can cost you more money. Its more expensive to match a 6 foot welterweight than it is a 5'7" welter......
The KO % makes sense but The height thing is crazy never would have thought that.

For the club shows, Are your only sources of revenue from ticket sales and whatever sponsorships you can get for the event?

And what was the avg budget of your club shows and usually what % is going towards the fighters purses.

He should get off this forum then.

Saying you were a boxing promoter for 12 years is like saying you were a shoe cobbler for 12 years.

It's pretty irrelevant and more a historical novelty than anything.

The only reason you excuse Golovkin is race. It's pretty simple.

If you are Top Rank, you get $50k range for Solo Boxeo + any tiny international TV money.

                      Then ticket sales & sponsorship.

The Solo Boxeo shows can see from $80k to $100k in revenue on average.
