If the fight ends up being legit off than Arum is losing his skills. He should be able to make this fight happen with HBO, Showtime or f#ck it even by himself on PPV if worse comes to worse.

There is no way someone shouldn't be willing to pay the $2M total or whatever $ amount these fighters deserve. Idk how legit the $1M for both guys offer is that I've been seeing, but it can't be a for real non-slap in the face offer cuz Loma has been taking down almost a mill for his last couple fights iirc vs far less stellar opposition than Walters. And I gotta assume Walters is taking down some mid 6 digit figure himself. If the HBO math is $1M then Arum should walk Loma over to Showtime or consider other options. Loma is a guy who could arguably be #1 P4P in a few years & there is value in having a long term positive relationship with him (unless HBO boxing is going outta business sooner than I even think).

The problem is Walters has never EVER wanted that fight with Lomachenko

It's not that people don't believe you, it's just dumb to post a thread like this without stating the source.

I could literally make a thread right now titled "Wladimir Klitschko tests positive for HGH, rematch with Fury Off".
This is all I could find

I hope top rank benches his ass for awhile and he becomes irrelevant.
Walters' last fight on HBO, apparently, put $750k into his pocket. Walters-Lomachenko is a much bigger fight, yet Top Rank was only offering Walters $500k. Spin it however you want, but that's bull****.

Top Rank has none of the other pieces at 126, has no real leverage with anyone at 130, and HBO isn't yet interested in anyone on their roster but Pacquiao at this point.

They still got time for Crawford, Bradley, all those quality prospects like Verdejo, Valdez, Ramirez x2, if these guys deliver

I do think you're only worth what the market gives you, but for reference Lomachenko made $750K for Koasicha.

Edit: And that fight did 585K viewers.

Terrence Crawford's next fight, with no opponent even hinted at, is already being targeted for HBOPPV, and the Crawfor-Lundy card had a total fighter payout of under $1.75m. Bradley may be in a different boat.

The fact that there isn't the budget for $2m cards on HBO any longer casts a lot of doubt, imo.

I was just saying in another thread that Top Rank isn't just a promoter anymore, they're a full fledged multimedia company capable of producing high quality PPVs all by themselves, which they've done in the past but havent in a while.

However... Lomachenko and Walkers are in a smaller weight, not huge names and, most importantly, don't have a huge base to tap into like the guys on the old Latin Fury/Pinoy Power PPV cards did. Even if Arum packed it with good Mexican fighters, it would be a tough sell.

I think the failure of the Golovkin-Lemeiux PPV was a firm reminder to everyone in the industry that you can't force stuff, and trying to sell PPVs featuring fighters that are not yet superstars and have no national/ethnic fanbase in America is probably not a good move.
