I'm using logic here......If Steele was biased for Chavez, why did he allow Taylor to land so many low blows ?

Besides the MIRACLE stoopage at the end, was there any evidence that Steele was helping Chavez ?

Are we to believe he was paid to stop the fight, in Chavez's favor, as soon as the opportunity presented itself ?
If that was the case.....how come Steele didn't break out with a massive smile of relief when he finally got his chance to collect his payoff....when Chavez came through with the last second heroics ?

    BTW....

Steele's worst stoppage ever was when he stopped Tyson-Ruddock I.
Ruddock had not been battered, at all, when Steele stopped the fight. It was one good flurry, Ruddock reeled, & Steele ended it.
This a round after Ruddock had Tyson hurt.

What do you think of that, Jackie ?
I never seen that fight, but Tyson would have knocked him out eventually. Be it a hook or an uppercut. Ruddock would have gone down one way or the other..

That's not a justifiable reason to stop a fight.

You never saw the fight ?

You beat me to the punch on that one. Sven ottke was nothing but a cheating toerag. I've watched a few of his fights and when the ref wasn't protecting him he was playing the ref at every opportunity. No wonder he didn't want to come out and play with Calzhage. I was really hoping Reid would do a number on Ottke but if your'e not even allowed to hit your'e opponent, what chance do you have?

          Lol
I couldn't believe what I was seeing... I remember afterwards Reid said (have I said this already?) that he wouldn't be able to get a decision against Ottke even if his mum and two best mates were doing the scoring.

Every time Ottke was in trouble he pretended he'd been low blowed... even when he was hit in the head.

They were both pretty damn good fights, actually.

Ruddock took a helluva beating in the second fight, but hung through.....& managed to land a lot of excellent shots on Mike.

Steele in Taylor/Chavez I, big time, 5 secounds to go, and he stoped the fight. Taylor won, he got back on his feet, he deserved it.
