[QUOTE=Anorak]Robin Reid vs. Sven Ottke (Reid's bamboozled expression when the ref actually warned him for hitting his opponent was priceless - most biased ref of all time)
You beat me to the punch on that one. Sven ottke was nothing but a cheating toerag. I've watched a few of his fights and when the ref wasn't protecting him he was playing the ref at every opportunity. No wonder he didn't want to come out and play with Calzhage. I was really hoping Reid would do a number on Ottke but if your'e not even allowed to hit your'e opponent, what chance do you have?

You're all wrong about Steele, concerning Taylor-Chavez.
Have any of you seen the fight ?
If you did, how can you say Steele was biased against Taylor when he allowed Meldrick to REPEATEDLY hit Chavez below the belt ?
I guess....he let Taylor do that all night long, because he just KNEW he'd get a chance to steal it from Meldrick later in the fight ?
Nonsense.Comment

I watched this for the first time recently and I've no affinity to either fighter. I'd have to agree that Taylor was constantly hitting on the hips, the commentators were even discussing it as a probable tactic of his.Originally posted by jabsRstiffYou're all wrong about Steele, concerning Taylor-Chavez.

I don't see where the controversy is on the stoppage either, the ref's not the time keeper so he didn't know how long was left and Taylor wasn't responding to him. It's a shame though, he was totally kicking his ass.Comment

Actually....I like them BOTH.
I'm using logic here......If Steele was biased for Chavez, why did he allow Taylor to land so many low blows ?
Besides the MIRACLE stoopage at the end, was there any evidence that Steele was helping Chavez ?
Are we to believe he was paid to stop the fight, in Chavez's favor, as soon as the opportunity presented itself ?
If that was the case.....how come Steele didn't break out with a massive smile of relief when he finally got his chance to collect his payoff....when Chavez came through with the last second heroics ?
BTW....
Steele's worst stoppage ever was when he stopped Tyson-Ruddock I.
Ruddock had not been battered, at all, when Steele stopped the fight. It was one good flurry, Ruddock reeled, & Steele ended it.
This a round after Ruddock had Tyson hurt.
What do you think of that, Jackie ?Comment
