People who complain about Conor's tap know nothing about martial arts and have never been choked out. When placed in a proper sleeper hold, even gently, you begin losing consciousness within 2-3 seconds and every single person on the planet is completely out within 10 seconds, usually less.

You can imagine how it feels to be in a proper chokehold done by a trained Jiu-Jitsu fighter who's bigger than you. Conor felt himself going so he tapped. "Going out on your shield" is idiotic.

Why is Blow Job talking like he isn't a complete coward himself?

Go wipe that ketchup stain off your cheek, you scruff.

Sure it's highly competitive in nature, but how can you have a full camp and lose to someone who barely trained for 10 days and was on a boat drinking with his friends? About the size, well Diaz was a bloated lightweight who could not make 155 because he only got 10 days, understandably. Point is, Diaz himself is not a welterweight, so he too moved up.
        You answered your own question.

In MMA you have more than just a puncher's chance, kick, knee, takedown and try to submit, so something is going to click. You can have a full camp but there are so many thing you can be ready for. Factor in the guy was trynna pull an Amir Khan and moved up 2 weights also the guy he fought is supposed to be top notch.

Some of you guys are still under the illusion that Connor is supposed to be great. It was marketing and you got duped. Get over it.
During the broadcast the commentators said he was training for a triathlon.

Boxers who make silly comments about MMA, sound as ****** as MMA fighters do when they make silly comments about boxing.

McGregor is much better at BJJ than Holm, which is why he tapped and she got choked out.

A choke does not affect your airway/windpipe, it affects your blood-flow and is nearly painless..... which is why inexperienced fighters don't tap out.

              It is also about respect/understanding.

Conor knows how good Diaz is, he knew the lock was perfect, and likely felt the first stage of dizziness..... pretty dumb to not tap out knowing all that.

Holm was gutsy, but no gutsier than usual, she will tap when she gets more experience.

True, but the Diaz Brothers are known for having phenomenal stamina.

McGregor misjudged how much carrying that extra weight affected him.

That is why most move up slowly, taking 2-3 camps to adjust.

Also, like Rousey/Holm, and Holm/Tate..... McGregor/Diaz was an awful match-up for Conor.

Diaz does not really get ko'd or submitted, he loses by decision..... so you have to go 5 rounds with that mutha****a. A super-tough southpaw with an excellent strikiing game and good length, who also happens to be a killer on the ground...... not a great match-up.

Anyway whether Connor tapped out in 3 seconds or held the choke for 15 seconds, either way he new there was no way he was getting out of it, he was badly hurt at that point and clearly had nothing left... So why cause yourself anymore punishment then need be when he new he couldnt do nothing. That being said he was doing well and had clearly won 1st round and was winning 2nd till he got rocked.

He wouldn't tap at all, because he wouldn't know what was happening.

A choke is painless, you gotta be experienced to tap.

You get respect from fans...but tap or no tap - your going to lose...and no blood to the brain can't be good for you.
When you feel it on properly - it's then up to the fighters if they want to be unconscious or not. Personally i wouldn't knock someone because they want to remain conscious throughout.

Exactly, that is when you tap.

Holm didn't know, but that will come with experience.

She needs to do BJJ, wrestling takedown-defence is not enough, but it's kinda hard at her age.

Repeat that to yourself. No, he wasn't training. He was on vacation. Even a vacationing gatekeeper with no size advantage wrecked Connor because he was a hypejob.

It was a style issue..... Diaz fights real heavy on his front foot, and he is a southpaw, which opened him up for RDA's back-leg..... Nate had no answer, and failed to adjust.

I think he needed to try to damage RDA's shin with checks

It's much harder for RDA to do that to a conventional fighter.

But yea, you're right, he is on a great run.
