I think Crawford is probably good enough to beat Postol and probably guys like Danny Garcia. But I don't think he's going to reach that elite level.
Well, beating both Postol and Garica would be pretty elite level, don't you think?

Nah, not massively overhyped. Broner was massively overhyped, being ranked No.4 on a prominent p4p list and all.

His record is not great, but he has looked impressive so far. He is being overrated. People are saying Pac couldn't handle him when Gamboa was tagging him repeatedly. But not to a crazy degree. He looks the part.

The difference with Crawford is that he's performing advanced-level boxing techniques with an unorthodox spin. I'm the first one to criticize guys when their hype exceeds the level of opposition; GGG, Kovalev, Broner (when there was hype following him), etc, etc. With Crawford, I'm hesitant to say much because he's one of these guys where I feel like I'm learning as I'm watching him. I rarely ever get that sensation anymore.

Why does everyone who likes Postol have to pan Crawford and vice versa? Are we that biased (read; racist) around here? Postol is the other "newcommer" who I'm very excited to see. Less complex and surprising, but a rock-solid boxer by every definition of the word.

I agree. He looks better than Broner with the eye test and hasn't struggled as much as Broner has in his fights. But I haven't seen Crawford beat anybody I wouldn't pick Broner to beat or KO. Do people think Crawford would have beaten Maidana in his second fight above 135?

He is certainly good, but people need to slow down on rating him so high.

Said I didn't think he's elite. Got called a racist... He doesn't seem to have anything special about him. Nothing like Ward or Floyd where you can tell they're special boxers with exceptional defense or like Pac kov or ggg where the offense is something of a different level. Can someone tell me why is he so highly regarded?

Even Dulorme won 3-4 rounds against Crawford and he's C level at best.

Crawford was outboxed by Danny in the ams as well and we know skillwise, Danny isn't that great. I heard Sadam Ali handily beat him as well. This was obviously a while ago, but my point is Crawford isn't as skilled as people think.
Believe it or not, Garcia was actually known a very skilful and quite slick boxer as an amateur and not really a puncher. You wouldn't think so when watching him now. Not that he has no skills, he obviously does but that style is not something you associate with him now.

But anyway, i agree with all that you say.

It's interesting you say that, Mikey Garcia said something similar recently on ESNEWS, he said he seems to remember Danny being better as an amateur. I haven't seen any amateur footage of him tho.
