Yeah really great comparison there, except of course Crawford and Postol were fighting in the same division and now Crawford is at 147. Of course Ward was at 168, now 175 and whatever deal he briefly offered Golovkin (which was the day he signed to fight Lemieux) was for late 2016!
Crawford - massively overhyped

Meh...If it weren't for HBO and Max Kellerman's constant bias, nobody would even notice this. Crawford is an up and coming fighter working on a lineal championship in his second division. He's still building his resume at this stage in his career.
His run at 140 has been a setback and killed the momentum he built up during his run at 135. He absolutely has to fight Postol next to keep fans interested.Comment

postol would KO unconscious crawford. crawford is very talented but postol is the REAL definition of elite p4p.Comment

Very good post.I agree.
As everyone knows, I'm a Gamboa fan and rate him massively, but let's be honest: Gamboa is tiny, was 2 divisions above where he belongs, was highly inactive and didn't have a trainer and yet he was outboxing Crawford with ease until the size difference slowed him and hurt him....even then, he still rocked Crawford bad later in the fight with one shot.
Crawford is a good fighter, but he's not a special talent. The hype at the moment is every bit as ridiculous as when people were saying Matthysse would knockout everyone in boxing.Comment

See both fighters are protected. How dare anyone ask those two hype jobs to take a good fight.Yeah really great comparison there, except of course Crawford and Postol were fighting in the same division and now Crawford is at 147. Yeah Postol is a bit stiff and not athletic like Crawford, but I do think he's the better boxer. We'll see soon anyway, Bob surely has to make that fight now that Provo is fighting Molina.Gamboa is fast as **** and exceptionally skilled himself, not to mention a tricky style to deal with. I wouldn't hold that against Crawford at all.
Postol has a good jab but he's shaky man, his footwork isn't always that solid and he's overall sloppy at times. I think Crawford is the better fighter here.
Any videos of those amateur fights or details of the fights? A win at the amateur level doesn't always mean much, unless it was a KO or domination. Sometimes those 'who landed more punches that all the judges clicked the button at the same time' type of fights don't mean much, I mean are we talking about a fight where a dude won 17-14, or was we talking about 21-3? Big difference.
He's definitely better than C level. Gamboa would beat bigger C level fighters, for example I'm certain he would have beat Brandon Rios. He's B level in my book, whether or not he's B- or B+ I'm not sure until he fights better opponents at 147.
As for the amateur fights, he went 1-1 against Danny and both fights were close apparently, but Danny isn't very skilled and more suited to pro fighting than am, so a skilled guy should easily outpoint Danny especially at amateur level.
And apparently Ali outpointed him clearly, I haven't seen footage of but saw somebody on ESNEWs say it a while back.
I haven't seen footage of either fight. Like you said you can't put much weight on them, but I always look into fighters' amateur backgrounds.
Also I didn't say Crawford is a C level fighter, I was referring to Dulorme.Comment
