“I want to beat the best Alvarez, fight the best Alvarez. The fights I’ve been watching he was really hydrated, and normal, where he was happy making the weight.
He said Canelo wanted 155 and khan obviously accepted...how does this contradict what you've just quoted ?

Did you watch the video? He said he tried to negotiate a lower weight.

those negotiations obviously didnt work and Khan wanted the fight, so he took it at Canelo's best weight. I'm sure if they'd pushed enough, there could have been a pound or 2 in leeway.

Anyway, it's all irrelevant. The fights happening at the weight Canelo wants.

So there we have it. Following any normal pre-fight negotiations when there's a huge weight disparity between fighters, Canelo wouldn't even agree to a 153 catchweight, after he realized he was weight-drained against Floyd at 152!

Khan still agreed to fight Canelo at Canelo's ideal weight, instead of doing like Floyd did and saying "152 or no fight".. lol

Khan stock raised even higher in light of this. Apparently the sky's the limit!

He lied about wanting the best Canelo or wanting a lower weight, either way Khan is full of ****.

not really, he simply tried negotiating the weights "a little bit" but he doesn't seem that bothered about it.

Does it matter who requested 155? They both have agreed to it. Thats all that should matter.

Khan gains points for me win or lose for agreeing to it & Canelo loses points for me win or lose for agreeing to it in this particular fight. Doesn't matter who requested it. I'm sure a lot of stuff gets requested. This is the A side era. I'm sure many guys are pushing edges or seeing how far they can push them.

I believe that quote is with regards to Khan not asking for a rehydration clause. Not the actual fight weight.

It does matter when both sides claim that the other guy wanted 155.

It never made sense to me that Khan would want it at 155, so in my opinion, team Canelo are the ones who are full of crap.
