Lol AJ? the guy with an even worse resume and almost got KOD by whyte lol ?. Spilka is a southpaw with good movement thats why he gave wilder problems. Povetkin isnt a southpaw and doesnt have good movement. When you really look at it he doesnt have much too trouble wilder except for power. Wilder on the other hand is taller , faster, and probably more powerful. Also has a better jab.Comment

You highlight very well how boxing can sucker fans in to extort money. What the hell has Wilder done to deserve a fan like this? He hasn't beaten anyone of any note, nor looks to be a GGG-esque destroyer at HW. He has struggled and struggled, but you seem to be a fan without anything going for him, other than his paper title he was gifted. At least be rational and wait till Wilder achieves something first.Comment

Conveniently leaving out that Povetkin is a very good counter puncher, and displayed that skill just as well against a taller opponent in Wach, and was able to negate Wlad's jab somewhat. Wilder's jab is nowhere near as good as Wlad's so I have no worries there. At many times during their fight, Povetkin ducked the jab and was in prime position to land a left hook (to which Wlad grabbed and grappled to negate it, Wilder hasn't shown to do this at all). Wilder is probably clumsier and less defensively sound (or at the very least, equal to) Wach too - his last 3 opponents have been able to hit Wilder with relative ease, and all 3 have been severely mediocre opponents who haven't cracked the top 20 at HW. I don't see how Wilder is faster, he hasn't displayed effective speed at all, apart from against the very slow Stiverne. The lack of proper analysis in your post is concerning, but predictable... Wilder can very well win, but it'd be a wild haymaker due to a lapse in Povetkin's defence.

The only thing of note that Wach landed in the fight was a few jabs - of which most were answered with a sharp Povetkin left hook or a straight right. It was pretty consistent too. There was some pretty neat body work done by Povetkin also. Its a fight worth watching again.
Its weird, you're claiming we're overrating a fighter - but its your post that overrates a fighter. You're saying we are painting Povetkin up to be 'Tyson' - it may seem obvious to point this out, but it doesn't require Tyson to beat Wilder, far from it. Noone has ever claimed that. We're saying Povetkin can beat Wilder because Wilder isn't very good, not because Povetkin is Tyson. You've added that weight yourself, and you're far overrating Wilder to claim that you need a fighter like Tyson to beat him. Thats just downright laughable and his last 3 opponents prove that beyond doubt.Comment

Well you evaded most of my post, not too surprising..

Wilder may well show us something we haven't seen, and i'd be as excited as anyone if he does. But as of now, he hasn't shown anything that convinces me he'd beat Povetkin.
If he wins, i'll give him credit of course. It's a fantastic win. He'd take Povetkin's place as the 3rd best HW on the planet, behind World Champion Fury, and Wlad. He'd definitely be a realistic contender to the throne.Comment

How can you make statements like that then get on GGG for wanting to fight for his divisional title at the traditional weight that the title is fought in? Cotto and Canelo have made a very bad trend for a weight class that has so much history. What is wrong with offering to fight Floyd at 154? No way Floyd comes up, Floyd wouldnt even fight Canelo at 154, had to drain him also. 155 for the MW title is atrocious and should not be allowed period. There are weight class for a reason, catchweights have been abused terribly.
Say what you want about Wilders choices of opponents. How can you convince someone that he wanted to fight a top ten but they all ran, when guys in the top 40 were willing to fight him? Wilder wanted Arreola, who knew himself he couldnt make a fight of it anymore. Wilder wants his easy plain and simple. Has a ways to go to prove otherwise.
now go ahead and pick 2 that he didnt fight..splika was a good choice of opponent...
he wants his easy, but he's going to russia? meanwhile ggg wouldnt go to mexico for canelo and u know it..he surely wouldnt go to 155 for him...DONT PLAY WITH ME DUDEComment

At least you accept your irrationality in this scenario - your argument is Wilder is good because he will win. I don't need to point out whats wrong with that statement.
