Thats most likelily whatll happen...usually these big fights almost never live up to their hype bcuz both opponents are aware of what the other guy can do. Not that its a bad thing, the action comes in fights you least expect

Think about it ... if Ward only sc****s past Barrera, then he doesn't deserve to be called a top P4P fighter and beating him shouldn't make Kovalev automatic No1.

On the other hand, if Ward barely beats Barrera then goes on to beat Kovalev, that means Krusher was not as good as we thought he was, and Ward shouldn't be P4P No1 for beating him.

Wait and and see what happens when Ward fights Barrera. Then we'll have some idea of the level he is at now.
What kinda logic is this?? SMH

Despite all that Kov accomplished, the guys hes beaten...if Ward beats him then he wasnt as good as everyone thought he was and thats IF Ward sc****s by Barrera????

This is where we would consider the -styles make fights- concept...smh

The Ward-Kovalev winner IS the new post-Floyd P4P #1. Unless of course they can find a way to get Rigondeaux and Chocolatito in a ring together.

Dude, he's just laying the groundwork for his "GGG is the real P4P" argument that's sure to come.

I think it's a fair argument. I'm not impressed with Kovalev's resume but he himself looks to be highly talented. Getting through Ward (assuming all goes as expected before Nov) would prove that he is indeed top talent, and #1 P4P.

On Ward's part, his resume is the best in the sport but he lacks recent name-value wins. Beating a tough prospect in Barrera, then a top guy in Kovalev would undoubtedly put him at #1 P4P.

I dont understand that either. Canelo outboxed Trout IMO Canelos best performance..what impressed me most was his head movement.

Lol ill tell him Ward beatn Barrera is equal to Ward beatn GGG....BCUZ they have the same trainer. Im sure he'll agree with that logic

Kind of hard to rob Trout when they kept telling him the score after every round??? WTF was his corner telling him the whole time??? That he was winning???

If your corner can't even help you out what the heck are they doing then??? Sight seeing? Not one time did he or his corner try making any adjustments throughout the fight. They should of said this ain't working and your losing you need do something different or I'm gonna just throw in the towel...Do something to light a fire under his @ss!

Good thing Crawford didn't have those clowns in his corner against Camboa when he was getting posterized. Him and his team adjusted mid fight and Knocked Gamboa OUT!!!

I can't feel sorry for any boxer who KNOWS their losing and does Jack Sht about it because their too ****** too have a plan B,C, all the way to Z. Not every fight is gonna go your way so you best learn some new tricks..Or get a new trainer.

Thats a good point actually. Hard to say. I would put Barrera in the Top 10 if he beat Ward...you gotta look at his overall reseme' and theres fighters who would have a better overall reseme than Barrera. If he went on to beat Kov then hes top 3...easy.

The fact is we just don't know how good Barerra is. He was a decent amateur, but not an outstanding one, and he's only had 17 pro fights.

That was the point of my post.
