I said he was decent, but not outstanding, same as Barrera.

Barrera won gold and beat Chad Dawson as a JUNIOR.

If you score the fight round for round AFTER the fact. Yes it was a close fight. But then your punishing the guy who KNEW he was winning because the other guy didn't want to go for the win and just gave up.

If I know I'm winning I'm not gonna do much more. In fact I would do less so I dont get accidently get hurt or KO'd. It was the LOSERS job to bring the fight! If you don't want to engage I'm not gonna force ya... That fight was the 1st time Trout went down as a pro. Got up with a oody mouth. He was also Bambi-Legged a few other times. I think he quit. Didn't want to possibly get KO'd. So much easier to just blame the judges.

If Ward beats Kovalev, his argument for the mythical position is far stronger - he has a history of solid wins, and looks to be definitely smaller than Kovalev.

If Kovalev wins you can argue size was a factor. It'd still be a great win, no doubt. But Ward beating the proven champion at 175 is a bigger feat

A win over Kovalev shows he's still the same fighter that pretty much tore through 168. Its not so much credit for the wins themselves, but more a reinforcement he's still the same fighter most people ranked behind Floyd.
