    • Fairly typical for Cotto after a loss.

After Margarito he fought Michael Jennings.
After Pac he fought Yuri Foreman.
After Trout he fought Delvin Rodriguez.

The lone exception was fighting Trout after Floyd but you really don't take a "loss" making that kind of money against Floyd.

I guess it could be worse. But like others said, if Kirkland isn't with Ann Wolfe I can't take him seriously. Plus after that Canelo beating, you'd like to see him get a couple fights in before another big one, but what is he going to do, turn down a big payday that may be his last? No way.

          • Cotto picking cherries since floyd, only one relevant fight since-canelo...trout was supposed to be a showcase, rodriguez, then he fought a guy with no legs which they knew had no legs, then he drained an Oz feather fist, fought 4 times since 2012...stop collecting cash and retire FFS!

Before he went to prison a lot of ppl liked him. He's not that bright though! If Ann Wolfe trains him I give him about a 30-40% chance of beating Cotto. It all depends on him though...
lol i can tell your new to boxing, so feather fisted ishida blew him out in 1 round, angulo gassed out or else he would have finished him. canelo took his shots easy and blew him out in 3 rounds.

****** idiot, acting like you know boxing.

Jennings had one loss and was ranked #2 behind Cotto by the WBO, Cotto had to fight him for the vacant title. Yuri Forman was undefeated WBA world champion at 154lbs, Cotto's first fight at the weight. Yuri Forman: 5'11 with 72" reach, Miguel Cotto: 5'7 with 67" reach. By the way many picked Yuri to win the fight, as he had most the advantages and was coming off 2 big wins against Bundrage and Daniel Santos. Your assessment is not supported by the facts.

This fight is no where near those circumstances and would not only be disrespectful to his fans, but will also do nothing for Cotto's legacy. There is no legit reason this fight should happen.

                • This isn't a bad fight.

I would favor cotto, but cotto getting kod is a possibility.

But just who will the Puerto Rican star be facing that night? The latest name to emerge is James Kirkland (32-2, 28KOs).

What the hell is this? Jesus 2016 is an odd year for boxing so far.

Id rather see Cotto vs Lara.

                    • Kirkland can't hang in there with Cotto. Yes, he has the power to hurt Miguel, but the guy doesn't take the game serious and there's no way he can last 12 as a result. His endurance will be his downfall. ALSO, lets not forget his jaw is touchable and Cotto has KO power. Safe pick for the Rican.
