Loma is a good example, but he's also not a household name either.

I think we will see more attention as a result of no headgear & pro-style fighting which will create bigger stars.

With the old style of fighting, it was Red vs Blue, faceless guys fighting each other and a boring style of "tag fighting" that rarely had any drama. It was extremely difficult for casuals to get into it. Now, all that is gone. The fighters will have faces, the action will be faster, more intense and more drama.
No shit? I follow amateur boxing since the mid '60s...

We are gonna agree to disagree here. Imo one evil entity with massive skin in the game is better than 20 evil en****** with a lil skin in the game. To me maybe the biggest failure in boxing today isn't necessarily even the corruption its all the powerful people in the sport trying to pull things their way. Boxing could use one entity pulling things one way who would get a market correction by doing something fans liked or something fans didn't like.

Plus having a business man running things is not that good either because he will always favor his cash cow superstar and protect them as they bring in the most money so therefore it would make it easier for them to corrupt the game.

Ill agree with you that having a centralized unit for all of boxing world wide is a good thing, but you need representatives to come together and set policy and things. You can have a commissioner, but he has to have an overseer and a board that keeps things in check. Just having some business man running the whole thing would not and will not work. Look at how the PBC is doing now. It hasn't improved boxing. It may have brought more boxing to the public on TV but the fan base isn't growing and the mismatches being shown now are at an all time high.

I think to be successful in the long run boxing has to have a one centralized unit with maybe a commissioner but it has to have a board that oversees things. That's how the NFL, NBA and MLB works. Those organization all have a commissioner but there is a board of people in place that makes sure that things are in check. And said commissioner can get fired if he is not doing the right thing.

So having some business man with skin in it as you said will not work because when its all said and done he has no one to answer to and he can do as he pleases which is not what boxing needs.
Isn't there a group of owners in those sports + a commissioner that is appointed by those owners kinda like a supreme court judge who they probably pay millions of dollars to to sort out their issues between each other & focuses on greater good of the sport/centralized power league type issues? Thats fine imo.

Its just not a bunch of random altrustic guys who just dig that sport or a guy who hasn't been chosen for that position by the guys who do got skin in the game. I can understand a commissioner like that who's more of a arbitrator who's been agreed upon by guys with skin in the game. You can't have some government guy throwing another guy into a state boxing commission like what goes on now. You had me thinking of about state boxing commissions which I think is one of the issues now. State boxing commissions are one of the big problems & corrupt forces in the sport today that seems to have little greater good of boxing type things on there mind (I would say the Nevada commission has surprised me a bit recently with their better PED policy & improvements with not sanctioning fights not seemed competitive enough, but largely commissions are horrible & suck including the NSAC)

And I disagree guys with money will just push Floyd & Manny types vs bums to keep them afloat for as long as possible as you seem to be suggesting. I believe just about every other sport in the world has this nutty idea of having competitive competition within their sport & a single champion at the end of the road every year. Thats the plan I think any person or group who headed a centralized power structure in boxing would duplicate to boxing as its been proven to be a successful formula in nearly ever other sport. Hell even in fake sports like pro wrestling the best fake wrestle the best.

The sport is in the winning AND losing not just putting asses in seats. And I feel like putting forth the best of boxing on a regular basis, which means the best vs the best, would equal asses in seats & a building of a regular assortment of guys rising to the top like the UFC has been doing for awhile now. Stars get built by promoters in boxing today, if boxing were ran like most sports some centralized power would get boxing stars built by winning their way to the top vs better & better opposition. Thats the clear & obvious model to have in a centralized power boxing world. And if they did differently I believe there would be a market correction, like I'd argue is going on now outside of Manny, Floyd, Canelo & to a lesser degree a few others fights, til they did put the best in with the best.

Yeah, MayPac left a bad taste in everyone's mouth but boxing will never die, it will always have its core audience and the same for the UFC. It may be a bit on the decline but it won't die. UFC is for the young generation and Boxing is old generation.

However, the safety-first, clown style of fighting is what's killing boxing and turns a lot of people off. That c r a p has got to go. It's not boxing and never will be boxing. I personally believe boxing needs a governing body to fix all its current problems like safety-first runners and clinchers and the ducking.

Three more fights canceled today. This is getting ridiculous, regardless of the cause. I thought the customers were supposed to come first.

Boxing need more superstars after Mayweather retired. I think Crawford is the man to take Mayweather place. He's like a Floyd Mayweather, same size, undefeated and american. But instead of been the best in defense, he's the best in offense and he put on better show than Mayweather imo. He just need more media attention and bigger draws, but it's hard to find him a quality opponent, most of the 140-147 dont want any part of Crawford. The only guy i believe want to fight Crawford at 140 is Postol. If Crawford passes Postol test, i think he's going to rise quickly to stardom, but he could also take another, easier path.
