As Teddy Atlas and many others have said on a live telecast, ''this is what's wrong with boxing...''

How would Cliff Rold or Dan Rafael even assume that the fight would be cancelled due to Visa issues when Box Nation or Queensbury Promotions gave a statement that the Holiday closing from the Moscow - UK Embassy only affected one working day...

Then they report, if I'm not mistaken, that on the ''Holiday'' closing, Rigo jets back to the USA? WTF? It's obvious Box Nation didn't want to showcase this and Roc Nation Sports didn't even contest this oddball occurrence which means only one thing...there must have been a non disclosure agreement settled for Caribe and Roc.

How is it a coincidence that Dan Rafael or Cliff Rold, an obvious bridge from the BWAA crew both stated that the fight might be cancelled, with Rold or Rafael reporting that Rigo and his Team were having troubles with the application... You'd assume that Queensbury Promotions or someone from the UK would be in Moscow to help facilitate the whole VISA process or perhaps even ''Consult'' the ''team'' or ''Caribe'' or ''Roc Nation'' that ''hey your fighter should come a tad earlier for the VISA process, in case there are any problems or a cancellation, we will make sure to report that it was Box Nation or Queensbury Promotions' fault for not checking earlier...''

I agree SugarKaineHook. My only issue with Cliff's article is that by the time it was posted Boxingscene had already posted an article announcing that the fight had been cancelled, so by not editing Cliff's article to reflect the situation at the time of posting, they made Cliff look like he was out of the loop.
But whatever the case Rigo's career has been a farce from beginning to end. Shame he didn't sign with better management who could actually take care of him. not that he has helped his own cause by repeatedly fighting down at his opponents' level and hence self-destructed any marketability he originally had. so this visa issue was just one more chapter in the sad tale of Rigo's demise from most talented to just another wasted talent.

in simpler terms, the classic case of a blacklist exists due sour political forces. that's just the way it turns, and by beating Donaire, that's what happened.

Whatever Rigo and Francisco agreed to.... I didn't agree with as well. As much as I enjoy many elite fighters I can't assume what their performance would be with 2 weeks notice. That's just being honest, fair, and realistic.

Rigs has a ton of haters. A 5'2 1/2 maybe 5'3 boxer fighting at 122, who sometimes enters the ring at 122 also, and always fights bigger opponents, in height, and weight, and still easily beats them, while having a 62.5% stoppage ratio, gets hate. If he moved down to 115, or 118, and KO'd everybody, hating ******* would still find reasons to hate on him. It's amazing how many mindless zombie boxing fans there are. Everybody was fine with Rigs when the HBO crew as slobbing him down, but once Lampley started his negative campaign of hate for Rigs, its like the zombies fell in line. ******** sore that Rigs turned Donaire into his personal cabin boy one punch at a time. Out speeding the speedster. Outboxing, the bigger, heavier man, and giving him the swollen pumpkin face over 12 rounds of "beautiful boxing" as Donaire called it. Rigondeaux stood in front of Donaire much of the fight, yet the ***** ass haters claim he ran. Rigondeaux would make Frampton his *****, plain and simple. Frampton doesn't want any part of that. Maybe Quigg will step up to the plate. It will be a damn shame if Zolani Tete ends up having more balls coming up from 115 to challenge Rigs.
