I'd watch big country ten times out of ten over a haymon mismatch or an arum mismatch.
MM cards sell less than 100K PPV buys when he is the main event. No one gives a hot damn about Mighty Mouse..

I seriously doubt boxing could do those PPV numbers consistantly without either Cotto, Canelo, Mayweather or Pacquiao being involved

UFC is far more accessible than boxing. It's on almost all the time and the matchup a are almost always intriguing. Boxing politics has really warped your guys' reality as to what the fight game is and what it should be. UFC gets it right.

Imagine Floyd or Pacquiao losing to Carlos Molina. Just imagine.
MMA is so much harder to stay unbeaten because of all the different variables involved. So its not like what you said at all. Connor was moving up and facing a 155 guy. At 145 he's still arguably the best ever already. He needs to beat Edgar though, and that will be tough.

I don't even think people recognized Connor as a top 3 guy let alone the best. Bones Jones, Mighty Mouse, Cruz are all arguably p4p ranked higher. Jones certainly is.

True. It's harder to promote little fighters in either fighting sport without a latino following unless your name is Pacquiao.

All good, but I wonder if he is going to return to disrespecting Floyd. Why does he bother???
His gameplan was just awful and once he got hurt he panicked and turned into a novice. It was crazy to see. For a guy who talks so confident, Connor crumbled quick and fast when he got rocked. That first round though still shows me what he is capable of with a better gameplan. He just needs to learn how to box more and move. He also needs to kick more. But it also showed me that guys like RDA would maul him if they can take his left hand.

A boxer like Floyd has mastered his sport and would never lose to a Carlos Molina type of opponent.

The difference is McGregor didn't master his sport and get clowned on by a gatekeeper.
You realize boxing is one art in a sport that requires you to be good at many.

Rajon Rondo has mastered the art of passing, but dude cant shoot a lick.

Joe Flacco has mastered throwing the deep ball, but his accuracy is pretty bad.

You aren't making any sense. Floyd being a master in boxing is irrelevant when someone is kicking him in the legs.

And yes I got into boxing around 2000 and it took 15 years, but I enjoy UFC a lot more than boxing now for a few reasons.

                1) Its on all the time. Nearly every week there is a good fight on with real meaning.
                2) The best ALWAYS fight the best. No fighter in the UFC will be able to be protected. The words tune up or soft defense are foreign to the UFC.
                3) The title means something. A title fight is actually pretty important because there is only one, there aren't 793 different title belts.

If boxing had a UFC Stevenson/Kovalev, Canelo/GGG, Bradley/PBC WWS, Wilder/Povetkin, Rigo?Santa Cruz, etc. would have already happened. No ifs, would have been over with. That's the problem. I will watch most of those fights over any UFC fight still, but when will they happen? How much does anyone want to bet that half of those fights never even happen?

Boxing still has twice the potential. We'll see how things shape up this year.

Gotta love the UFC. You can legally smother somebody and stop them from breathing. They call it "controlling breathing." Learned that watching the Holm fight. I'm impressed really. I thought tackling somebody and twisting on their arm or choking them wasn't chicken **** enough. Nice to know you can actually suffocate people with your hands as well.
