I respect how Connor was gracious in defeat. He said he took a shot by moving up in weight and fell short. No shame in that.

Definitely refreshing to see a top fighter take risks to get fights done unlike in boxing where here you have a fighter in Canelo refusing to fight someone in his own weight class unless the opponent drops 5lbs whereas Connor moved up 25lbs just to save the card and test himself!

Not going to lie, the future looks BRIGHTER for the UFC right now because they do a better job at marketing and building up new stars. Also unpredictability and you always get the best fighting the best when you spend your money on their PPV Event. You're not asked to purchasing a glorified mismatch or rematches of matches that don't even need a rematch lol

Boxing is boring the hell out of me right now with these mismatches and recycled match ups. Beyond the match ups, where the *** are the personalities to grab the attention of casuals? Other than Fury, boxers are ***ing BORING! Canelo vs Khan presser was ****, absolutely boring, neither fighter did much to sell the fight to casuals

I'm enjoying UFC a lot more as of late I will admit that!

I mean they could pad their record with like 20 something bums if thats what you enjoy. I kinda like the fact that you always fight some one higher in the rankings to move ahead i like the fact that the champ faces the number 1 in the division then the 2-5 fightbout for the next title shot. Instead of beating nobodies to get a good ranking and play hide and seek with the belt. Imagine boxing having one champ . Imagine Pacquiao thurman porter garcia spence bradley kahn all having to fight eachother

Yea...that's not what really happened tho. He fought a guy who fights in the same division as the guy he was supposed to fight on 10 days notice with no weight cut. They weighed within 2 pounds of eachother at the weigh in.

Guys there are plenty of terrible fights in UFC. Their "big" fights get more play these days than your average boxing fight but there are terrible cards no one cares about all the time. Big Country Nelson is still a headliner over there for God's sake. Their HW "champions" fight like once a year. Who here knows who Mighty Mouse is? Or even know who their LHW champ is?

Don't overrate UFC. They have plenty of their own problems. Boxing is actually relatively healthy now, UFC is struggling outside of RR and Conor, both who just suffered aura-shattering losses..

Mighty Mouse Demetrius Johnson might just be the best complete fighter in the world. The lhw champ is Daniel Cormier, who is training to fight Jon jones. These two guys legit can't stand each other. Parity is where it's at and the UFC is full of it. It's far more interesting. I'd watch big country ten times out of ten over a haymon mismatch or an arum mismatch.

While I do not like MMA, when I read about it you always get the sense that fighters are taking on better quality opponent then the last fight if the won. UFC rewards winning which is important.

They also build fights properly. A beats B, C beat D, A and C headline the next PPV. ALso, if a guy works his way back into contention, he gets another title fight.

They also make fights right when fans want them. Now with Rousey and McGregor becoming such big crossover star we will see if UFC stays doing this.

Trying to point out UFC Weak Fighters and/or Weak Cards don't make Boxing Any Better lol

Boxing can do BETTER OVERALL! They need to stop with this Network and Promotion split, work together and come together to get fans fights they want. Until that happens boxing will continue to decline in the US and the UFC will continue to Rise. Difference between Boxing fans and MMA fans, MMA Fans seem to be far more LOYAL so PPV Numbers are not going to decline because McGregor and Rousey lost. I would say because of all the headlines from the upsets this weekend they will likely gain More Casual Fans!

UFC does very mediocre to poor PPV numbers when RR or Conor are not fighting. 200-300K buys is the UFC avg..
