Eh, the UFC has put out garbage cards for the last couple of years. This card was also garbage on paper, it just turned out that there were unexpected victories to dethrone hype jobs.

In the co main event we had Holly Holms getting submitted by Miesha tate...the former champ fighting a top 2 contender in her weigh division...sigh...

Shame on you boxing...we had champ and contenders fighting tuneups after another....
MacGeregor fought because this was the 1st time in UFC history a fighter was guaranteed $1 mil. He fought for the money, which is no different than what Khan is doing taking the Canelo fight.

The Diaz bros have a track record of beating the crap out of smaller opponents, Dana just got greedy with his new hype job and lost the gamble despite trying to cherry pick. The guy is about as dumb as they come.

It's McGregor and the UFC doesn't officially disclose payouts but this is definitely not the first million. OR 5 million.

Canelo vs Khan is a straight up joke. Conor is an undisputed champion 2 divisions down who moved up just for a one off challenge.

Canelo is a middleweight champion who refuses to ever fight any middleweights and dragged a random guy up to fight for a belt neither of them will ever defend.

I like boxing more but I watch UFC more often nowadays because boxing events are horrible. The only good ones are online streams from Russia basically.

Every time I've watched UFC I've been bored. Boxing is light years a head in terms of entertainment. I watched one MMA fight and a guy was meant to be one of the best in the world at BJJ but didn't try sub the guy just wrapped his legs around him for 15 mins made first 6 rounds of Quigg vs Frampton look like Hearns vs Hagler.

                    ... "UFC>>>boxing"...

Both MMA and boxing are actually ancient combat sports...
But there's no point in comparing them in terms of excitement... Boxing is far more established in the popular culture anyway.

The good thing about UFC is that it's all under one umbrella so it's much easier for the better fights to get made.

The boxing business is a mess, that's the truth of it. So many good fights will never get made because it's too fragmented. But it's a sport worldwide sport with a huge history so it's impossible to get everyone in sync and working together. UFC is fairly new in comparison so their whole model for the sport is way different to boxing, probably much better but it's a lot easier for them to apply this model. It's not like you're gonna get a guy like Bob Arum who has been in the sport 50 years suddenly start giving up his slice of the pie to make the model of the sport more fan friendly. He's gonna try to keep what he can, and whoever takes over from him will do the same and ad infinitum.

That said, i'd rather watch a good boxing match than UFC.
