So much for the WBA trying to wittle down their titles to one per division.

But should Broner title even be counted? He was elevated for no reason whatsoever after fighting an unranked opponent.

Both belts are completely fake until Broner beats some real contenders in the division. Ashley Theopane isn't one of them.

Scraping a second-rate WBO world title is the lowest thing possible that counts as a 'world title'

a WBA (Regular) belt doesnt even reach that low bar. He might aswell win an IBA title and claim the same thing
How was his WBO title second rate?

Burns is with Hearn, so it will be shown by Sky.

He barely reached the top 5 of either of the divisions he fought in, especially lightweight. That to me is the very definition of a second-rate world championship, especially when fighters are content in holding 1 belt and moving division, to repeat it.

I see your point but I remember burns being rated #2 at LW for a bit. And im not sure of the circumstances of him winning the SFW title but I remember him being granted an automatic LW title shot since he was champion of the organization at SFW.

Ricky Burns has been handed the chance to win a third world title.

The Coatbridge fighter, who has won global honours at both super featherweight and lightweight, will face foreign opposition in the spring as he looks to make it a trio of triumphs at the top echelon of the sport.

This is the vacant belt Broner only won 5 months ago and was made Super Champ weeks later.

Business as usual at the WBA.
