Also, technically speaking, the wbc is forcing the fight to be at 160 by virtue of it's rules regarding mandatories. Canelo has no choice but to fight GGG or get stripped, and that on it's own means that GGG aint gotta accept no catchweight.

The rules clearly protect the mandatory's interests over the champions, for obvious reasons, as Canelo is proving to us right now.

Finally, if you don't think Canelo is a ***** than God have mercy on your soul. Remember, this is the guy who claimed that he wanted the cotto fight to be at 156 and that Cotto was the one who demanded 155, 156!!!!!!!!

Then when he has to fight GGG, all of a sudden 155 is okay for him?

You aint gotta be Einstein to know why he wanted a higher weight when he was facing the guy who weighed in at 153 in his previous fight, and a lower one when facing the guy who weighed in at 159 on his previous fight. It's blatantly clear, you'd have to literally gauge your eyes out not to see it.
If Golovkin weighs in above 155, Alvarez walks away from the fight, and the WBC can't do anything to force him to fight. Alvarez will gladly hand the WBC their belt, and the WBC would be left at looking at getting 3% off of Golovkin's small-scale fights (have no doubt that the WBC would gladly sanction Alvarez-Rosado, in a ten round, non-title fight, after Golovkin defaults on the deal that he signed).

Hilarious to read folks writing with no actual understanding of what leverage actually is.

All the WBC is saying that they do not make or enforce catchweights. If you come in at under 160, you are still eligible to fight for the title by their rules.

That's not news though. Catchweight agreements are contracted between the fighters and have nothing to do with the WBC. IE, if the fighters write up a contract agreeing to weigh under 155lbs, and one misses the weight (and is still under 160), the WBC will still sanction the fight. BUT, the WBC sanctioning the fight does not protect them from whatever legal ramifications or stipulated penalties come from breaching their contract with the other fighter.
