If Canelo made Froch go to 155 Froch would be out in a round, if it is 168 Canelo with his limited skills would be iced in a round or two.

Basically froch-bute 2, but bute (canelo) being much much smaller this time around
        This is the correct answer

            question

How would Alvarez (who is slow) do against Carl Froch if he himself went up the same 2 weight divisions.

Do you see him doing well in a toe-to-toe war against Froch?

Bare in mind, Alvarez walks around heavier than Froch too so it's quite a fair fight really
4 or 5 inch height advantage, 3 or 4 inches in reach, Froch hits harder and has a great chin...Canelo gets stopped for the first time in his career.

Canelo would school Froch, he's a superior boxer and his handspeed would cause Froch also sorts of problems. Froch struggles with boxers - Ward and Dirrel both beat him (Dirrel was cheated by a home decision). Even Jermaine Taylor was beating Froch until he gassed. Canelo is a durable fighter (more so than Taylor) and I could easily see him going the distance and getting a UD over Froch, that's provided its not in Nottingham...

Wrong, Froch usually weighs little over 170 on fight night and is always walking round very close to fighting weight (174ish) and Canelo weighs about 174 on fight night.

Khan is moving to 155, it's basically 1 division.

Froch would beat the absolute **** out of him. Canelo has no chance, zero.
Would be worse than the Abraham fight.

Dirrell wasn't cheated, it was a close fight that could've gone either way.

Regardless, Canelo isn't as skilled as Dirrell/Ward or Taylor in his prime.

Froch loves guys who stand in front of him, Canelo isn't particular good on his feet, not is he an outstanding boxer in terms of skill. He's just a tough, strong guy who picks on smaller men. Bread and butter for the Cobra.
