He would get crushed. Not because of weight, but because of height. Froch would keep him on the end of the jab and completely control him.
How would Canelo do against Carl Froch?

Froch was more like 174-176, but still no real weight advantage at all. Fight night weight would definitely play no role in this scenario.Comment

The fight was competitive but Dirrell clearly won that fight. Your underselling Canelo's boxing ability, I'm sure he would adapt his style and wouldn't just stand in front of Froch.Dirrell wasn't cheated, it was a close fight that could've gone either way.
Regardless, Canelo isn't as skilled as Dirrell/Ward or Taylor in his prime.
Froch loves guys who stand in front of him, Canelo isn't particular good on his feet, not is he an outstanding boxer in terms of skill. He's just a tough, strong guy who picks on smaller men. Bread and butter for the Cobra.Comment

I seen an interview about 6 months after retirement where Froch stated he couldn't make 168. In his last fight he rehydrated 8lbs so don't talk pish. Also, when there was talk of him fighting GGG he spoke to his manager and Froch said GGG's manager was surprised how tall and big he was and that a fight with Glovkin would be a mismatch. He has been lifting weights since retirement and in his own words would struggle to even make LHW so I'm not wrong. He is currently well over 180lbs or was before the Fury/Klitschko fight
If you're talking about a hypothetical situation where we could go back 2 years and have Froch face a current Canelo then we can speculate. The height and power argument is still on my side. Canelo is too small for frochComment

Nope.Canelo would school Froch, he's a superior boxer and his handspeed would cause Froch also sorts of problems. Froch struggles with boxers - Ward and Dirrel both beat him (Dirrel was cheated by a home decision). Even Jermaine Taylor was beating Froch until he gassed. Canelo is a durable fighter (more so than Taylor) and I could easily see him going the distance and getting a UD over Froch, that's provided its not in Nottingham...
The Froch hate is strong.Comment

That was a 7-5 type of fight either way. I scored it that way for Dirrell, but it could easily have gone either way.
Froch is a hall of famer dude. No amount of hate is going to change that. Or are you still salty Groves got stopped twice?

Lol Hall of famer, George Groves is a bum and he almost sparked out Froch in the first fight.
Notable names on Froch's resume:
Pascal - decent opponent, nothing more
Taylor - Already washed up way before he fought Froch
Dirrell - Beat Froch
Kessler - Calzaghe beat him when Kessler was in his prime and Joe was getting old. Kessler still won the first fight against Froch convincingly but had faded prior to the second fight.
Abraham - The few times he fought outside of Germany he got found out.
Glen Johnson - Ancient
Ward - Schooled Froch
Bute, Mack, Groves lol.
Even Calzaghe (who is a joke himself would have schooled Froch). I have no doubt Canelo would be able to comfortably out-box Froch despite Froch's size advantage.Comment
