All I'm saying is all this **** can be ironed out and negotiated and there is no reason to believe it won't happen in September yet.
Hopkins at 51 years old is willing to come down 7lbs to fight GGG at 168. GGG should take notice to the stars around him, the sacrifices they make. Mayweather going up to 154 for DLH, Pacquiao going up 2 weight classes for DLH, Hopkins going up 15lbs for Tarver, Pavlik going up 10lbs for Hopkins, Hopkins willing to come down a full weight class for GGG, Jones all the way back dropping down from LHW to HW to LHW to fight Tarver.

People may say "But Hagler" all the time it's brought up, but the Hagler example can't help GGG cause GGG doesn't have the Duran's, Leonard's and Hearns like Hagler did.

The fight should happen, as soon GGG realizes that turning down fighters because they bring nothing also applies to him for Canelo. He needs to remove his head out of his ass and accept the terms from the much bigger, more popular star. Politics basic definition is who gets what, where, why, how, and when. GGG can get Canelo in September if he agrees to Canelo's demands, because Canelo will fight him at 155. Saying that they would only go down to 154 for Mayweather is a slap in the face to Canelo's star power. Like saying "You are not popular enough for us to do that." Team GGG are in a position to pick and choose now? It seems so, it seems that's what they think.

What's with Canelo and Cotto claiming not to be MWs and then holding onto the so called lineal title.

I don't really want to see it if it's not at the limit. Catchweights between title holders in the same division is utter BS.

I can see both sides. In GGGs case, take a hard stance at 160 and see if you can squeeze a few dollars out per pound. This type of stuff just needs to be negotiated. Right now, I just think both sides are posturing. I think it's just best to see what happens after May 7.

Golovkin has set a clear and consistent goal for himself. To dominate at MW. To unify all the belts and titles at MW. He is in the process of achieving this goal.

Canelo wants to change Golovkin's weight at MW to gain an advantage. Maybe they can negotiate this in the future. But right now Golovkin will take the belt away from Canelo and fulfill his goal.

Canelo will give the belt to Golovkin.

I use to have lots of respect for Canelo but he's turned into a clown. I can't understand how the man who is BIGGER/HEAVIER on fight night insists on draining both himself and his opponent to fight at a CW.

I guess he's right. He isn't really a MW. He's more like a SMW come fight time.

Abraham at 168 is there for the taking, it won't be easy but I think GGG beats him at this point, and he wins a title at 168, and earns a lot of money in that fight. When you want to fight in a big money fight, when you want a hand out from the bigger star, just accept his terms, Canelo doesn't need GGG right now. Floyd accepted all of DLH's demands and look at what the trade-in was for.
As much as i want GGG to move up, the Ward situation is different. GGG is aspiring to unify his division. If the Canelo fight doesn't happen which would be a big loss to boxing (not just GGG) then he would get the belt, and after that he would try and unify against BJS which would be a big fight in England where each guy can make 3+ million.

Ward either had a tough time making weight or wasn't aspiring to unify his division and there are strong enough challengers around that can give him a hard fight (specifically degale), Ward chose to move up and all the power to him because he will be facing in what i consider the toughest test one can face (in the 168 or 175 weight division) by fighting Kovalev. Beating Kovalev is a hell of an accomplishment, similarly unifying a division is also hell of an accomplishment because it also isn't something anyone can just do. its annoying as hell that it has to be done in a ****** way where someone would rather vacate then fight but it is what it is.

Ultimately i think GGG and his team feel that unifying the division will bring in the big fights and the big money. everyone can be a title holder but being the unified champion is a big thing... as it should be because there are very very few of those and sometimes divisions don't even have one for decades.

Strategically if the Canelo fight doesn't happen, GGG would still be considered one of the top cash cows after he unifies because of the 1) hype 2) the status of being unified 3) any fighter who would want recognition at middleweight would have to go and fight him, and no one will hide behind the belts... we will get fights like Jacobs and Canelo. Also as the unified champion you have more leverage against the big stars like Canelo.

If GGG does move to 168 he will face tougher challenges than at 160, but if he fights Degale and if he wins (Degale will be a tough fight), he will face the same Dilemma at that weight as he does now... no big names to fight unless he makes the move again to 175.

                  Reasonable conclusion is 160. Period.

If Canelo is comfortable as he claims at 155, then he's more than welcome to weight in at 155 while GGG weighs in up to 160.

It's all an attempt to weaken GGG as Canelo is the heavier fighter on fight night.

Like I said before: GGG should try to get a fight with Jacobs or move up.
