TBRB is just as flawed as any rankings system tbh. If rankings were handed over to TBRB expect the p4p list to be a bunch of babbyweight fighters who would have a 50/50 chance of getting sparked in a bar fight by a normal sized man.

Not stripping Rigo would've been the right thing. They're no better than a ABC organization.

I agree. That is way to subjective. They should have never stripped Rigondeaux in the first place and same with Adonis Stevenson.

I respect what TRTB is trying to do. I'd love to see one champion per division again.

The only thing is that they have no belts and they award no champions. That part of the boxing tradition is not and should not go away.

At the end of the day, there are very few actual world champions, if any. The alphabet guys are company champions. The Ring champions are magazine champions- not world champions.

Being such a global sport, it is hard to claim a world champion in this sport. It's not as convenient as NBA, MLB or NFL which all take place on one continent.

I wouldn't mind seeing a regional organization like the NBO, perhaps where the boxers are solely going after an actual real "American" title. I think it would be the best way to handle American boxing.

As for the world, if the TBTR would get some sort of tournament going, I'd definitely get into it. I could see champions being crowned and then one or two actual "World" title fights taking place each year per division. It would probably take years to build up, but it would help legitimize the sport.

they back themselves into a corner by stripping rigo, so whatever they did was gonna be criticized.

Correct call in this particular instance. Frampton/Rigo would now definitely set the #1 in the division.

THE RING’s Nos. 1 and 2 contenders fight one another.
If the Nos. 1 and 2 contenders chose not to fight one another and either of them fights No. 3, No. 4 or No. 5, the winner may be awarded THE RING belt if the Editorial Board deems the contenders worthy.
It's the right thing imo. How does #3 beat #2 and become the champion? That will then breed a generation where #2-5 avoid the #1 guy if he's too good, and still get crowned "the champ".

TBRB I don't like very much, their top 10 P4P list is crazy. They're the same as everyone else. The Ring P4P > TBRB.

Inoue is a better fighter than Canelo and Crawford in their opinion. Ranked #8 P4P. Estrada is ranked #5. There's clearly an agenda there.
