Actually it is VERY likely. The only thing that could vary is the amounts. Maybe they are half of the figures... that still = 50000% more than the rest.

NATAS asked you for a source twice. You ignored him. Without a source, your thread is about as useful as Boxtime's Khan-centric nonsense.

Source = multiple insiders at HBO.

Seriously? You are doubting whether HBO sports budget has been cut by $5 million?

It got cut by $15 million in 2010.

        Wtf

          Sorry mate, pure bull****.

You joined the forum this month, proceeded to make several threads without any sources, and quote everyone who replies to you.

Chances of a new guy having inside info is ultra low. And your behavior is not of someone who has 'multiple insiders' at HBO, it's behavior of a child.

This is the end times of american boxing...

Hbo will slowly bow out, showtime will follow...

Pbc won't lamd the lucrative TV contract like ufc..

You will see see american fighters leaving and going overseas much more often..

Canada, Germany, Japan, and UK will become the big paying markets, and fighters will flock there.. It won't be unusual by 2020 to see guys like thurman, bradley, etc going outsode of America for fights

Boxing has no one to blame but itself...

Horrible matchmaking, decades away from regular free network TV, inactive fighters, too many belts, not even legit champs...

Drip, drip, drip, starting in the late 80s to today..

              Star power dwindling
tyson leonard, hagler, Hearns, duran, Camacho, Mancini, Holmes, spinks, Cooney

Tyson, evander, lennox, roy, chavez, pernell

              Then
Oscar, tito, shane, vargas, barrera, prince, morales

              Then
              Floyd, manny, cotto, marquez,

              Now
              Canelo,,,,,, maybe Golovkin

The star power in boxing has been dwindling for years, all caused by how boxing has been operating

Couldn't find anything verifying OP's claims, but HBO has an estimated annual cash budget of $1 billion per year for producing original content according to this article. Considering what a fragment of the HBO budget boxing is, any trends downward are very bad signs considering it is the only sport they own any exclusivity rights to...

If haymon wanted to truly be revolutionary he'd get one of the top streaming services like Netflix or Hulu to pick up live boxing streams every once in a while. That's where it's at right now, no question. Live streaming hasn't taken off for sports yet, but it's a very smart bet at this point.

The way broadcast and cable rights work in the US are just now changing to where networks can simultaneously stream content on their websites during a network broadcast. Japan has historically been the same way which is why it can be so hard to find streams for some of their fights (well, that and not being able to read Japanese).
