You might be surprised at what the UFC ratings are on Fox Sports 1.

And you should really look at the ratings FS1 does on weekends that the UFC has big events...and I mean the ratings they do on Friday and Saturday for all their UFC coverage: the weigh-ins, the pre-fight, the prelims, etc.

But I'll leave those out and just give you examples of UFC shows pulling in bigger audiences than live PBC events:

UFC Unleashed on 1/15 did 178k
    PBC on 1/12 did 157k

UFC Ultimate knockouts on FS2 did 78k
    PBC on 2/9 did 76k

YouTube imbeds commercials into certain channels, Showtime's page being one of many.

The fight was aired for free, but to argue that Showtime didn't gain from doing so is short-sighted.

With Fury-Klitschko II being Klitschko's 4th HBO fight, his HBO deal is likely up; doubt that Frank Warren lets Fury get locked down into anything either.

Wilder-Fury/Klitschko winner, likely for Christmas time 2016, is being setup for SHOPPV. A good deal, if you ask me.

It was still a free livestream as part of a free preview weekend.

Wilder's got a lot of work to do before thinking about the Fury-Klitschko II winner.

then why are more people in america watching boxing than have watched boxing in several decades?

3-4 million people tuned in whenever PBC had a major card on NBC or Fox. Most of those eyeballs weren't watching boxing before. If boxing is dead, why is it growing? Your premise doesn't make any sense.

what's dying in america is boxing on premium cable & pay-per-view. al wants to kill those two platforms and so far it appears his quest is working.

The sport was already fractured and Haymon has gotten a ton of networks & promoters united together. Once HBO is out of the picture, this will be the least fractured the sport has ever been in our lifetimes.

Millions have tuned in to watch Deontay Wilder, Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner, etc. He seems to be doing just fine building stars.

Please explain how HBO, GBP or Showtime have been exploited. Do you know what the word exploited even means? Oscar was offered a TON of money for GBP btw. He's been massively damaged because he was too ****** to sell.

Wilder is about to fight Povetkin. Khan is about to fight Canelo. Thurman is about to fight Porter. Chavez is about to fight Jack. Wade is about to fight GGG. Martin is fighting Joshua. Soft touches?
Millions of viewers for Haymon? I think you should re-check those numbers as it has been said the numbers are dismal for free tv.

Yes. Millions of viewers. Easily verifiable fact. So it's actually YOU that should recheck those numbers.

It has been said the numbers are dismal for free TV? Said by who? What were their qualifications?

Said by random idiots on a website that have no idea what they're talking about?

And the Duhaupas fight didn't produce great ratings on NBC, but who the hell is Duhaupas? That was seen as a mismatch against an unknown foreigner going into it. There are UFC on FOX cards that do close to those ratings that are loaded.

Example being UFC on Fox 16 did 2.29 million viewers (T.J. Dillashaw vs. Ranan Barao).
UFC on Fox 17 did 2.28 million viewers (Rafael dos Anjos vs Donald Cerrone). The final number was 2.8, but that 2.365 million number for Wilder/Duhaupas was a preliminary number also

                  final number
                  Wilder-Duhaupas: 2.179M Average Viewers

                  NBC (primetime)
                  3/7/2015 (main event Thurman-Guerrero): 3.374M
                  4/11/2015 (main event Garcia-Peterson): 2.882M
                  6/20/2015 (main event Broner-Porter): 2.327M
                  9/26/2015 (main event Wilder-Duhaupas): 2.179M
                  12/12/2015 (main event Figueroa-DeMarco): 1.817M

PBC on NBC for 09.12.15 draws 0.69 rating; PBC on FS1 down as well : Article that can be Googled easily dated Sept 18th, 2015

Another article also Googled by site that tracks these things dated one month later: PBC on Spike TV draws just 315K viewers

During the summer: PBC Boxing primetime NBC overnight down 4% from April 11 telecast and 26% from March 7 premiere

I would link it but not sure if it's possible or allowed. More of the same for almost every PBC telecast (Sports Tv Ratings)
