Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Coach: Boxing Don't Need a 'Canelo Division'

Abel Sanchez, trainer of IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs), says the middleweight division is becoming a circus with all of the catch-weight stipulations that are being forced on opponents for the last few years.

Boxing doesn't need a "Canelo weight" division but is does need a 164lb division?

        How does that work?

Spot on these guy's are cheating us the fans with these silly demands Canelo v Khan should be at 154 and never for the middleweight title making the fight a complete joke.

Try to imagine Khan in there with Monzon or Hagler it is a complete con a joke.

Canelo is just a fat super welterweight who can not be taken seriously , like the man says if he wants to fight for the middleweight title at 155 ok but let the opponent fight at his weight up to 160, used to think Canelo was ok but realise his just another prima donna cherry picker.

GGG. will hammer him if they ever do meet.

Agreed. If hes the 160 champ he should fight at 160 and fight real middleweights. If he doesnt want to fight at 160 then leave the division and piss off with your 155 bs
