The 23m bid for Wlad-Povetkin was loopy, but this is a fight Povetkin can win. A russian HW champ is big business later on.
All Russians are poorer and the government is poorer so they can't be paid back for prestige items like this or the Wlad fight. Which forces prioritization which means all the government sport dough is going to World Cup prep.

He is not poor or close to losing his fortune, but it is also not a time to be ****** with his money because it ain't coming in like it was. There is no way for him to make a major outlay back and rich people generally are loathe to lose money.

He wouldn't even need to say this he would just go win it, saying it implies they want a better deal. It is not sign of strength, although if forced I am sure he puts in a nice bid although I think Haymon will beat him by $50 since he has a knack for that (man on the inside) unless it is equally as outrageous as the Wlad bid which would be like 8.

Go on please formulate an excuse, Wilder hasn't ducked anyone but it appears the Fury name is nothing but all talk no delivery Hughie Fury ducked Wilder and Dyson Fluffy Fury will duck the Bronze Bomber too.
Fury "ducked" the mandatory against Pulev to fight a superior fighter in David Haye for a lot more money and exposure. Hmmm, fight Pulev in a Russian leisure center for peanuts, or fight David Haye on UK PPV in a super fight? Yeah tough choice. As for Glazkov, c'mon now lol.

Wilder tried to get Hughie in at 3 weeks notice, his usual trick. Hughie said he would take the fight if he could have a full camp, Wilder then ducked him.

I guess you really are a fat, ******ed gamer who still lives with his mum, nice name change/avatar.

So using your frame of logic, a Wilder fan such as yourself, should have equally as little right to voice an opinion, as its equally as biased?

I don't understand where you are coming from here

Wilder has stated outright that he will never fight in Russia. He doesn't have a problem fighting in the UK, he's already fought here.

All these Russians buying up property in London don't seem to be that poor.

Well these Oligarchs are not part of the government (officially) so they are free to spend on who or what they are like for the most part. Theres no way he's going to put in a crazy bid like before, but he can easily win a purse bid. He wouldn't be losing that much, in the grand scheme of things, even if Povetkin were to lose. If Povetkin wins, big business. It's a risk I can see him very much taking, especially as his boxing stable (World of Boxing) is expanding quite a bit.
