He's the Mexican James Toney... Anyone calling Canelo a wannabe slickster needs to point out all the slicker fighters in boxing...because I'm not seeing many
Describe Canelo's Style

As for his style I would say boxer-puncher style.
Defintely a good counter puncher with a good jab and good timing.
I see people say he can't cut off a ring but I disagree. He can cut the ring off its just his feet are slow so he struggles with movement and needs to plant his feet to let his hands go. And he's getting better at it as time goes on.Comment

No I didn't I described why his foot speed causes him to struggle with a good mover.
His footwork is good, his positioning is good and he makes the right moves to cut off the ring. What lets him down is the footspeed, he knows how to do it he just struggled to catch up.
Unlike a Pacquaio for example who has more than enough footspeed to get into position he just doesn't know how to cut a ring off.
There's a difference.Comment

'mini-El Gran Campeon' who's watched and appreciated a lot of Mayweather fights growing up.
Good solid left to the liver, has no issue engaging in a brawl if need be, but has also picked up some of the subtler boxing point (moving the head/feet, running up his combos, using body shots/decoy shots to set his offense up, catching punches, etc) after his time watching Floyd.Comment
