Haymon would have a better case against GBP, especially Top Rank with the claims being made against Haymon. Theyre basically suing Haymon for what theyve been doing all these yrs...moreso Bob Arum, fkn HATE that fk.

How will that be the easy part? PBC always has a promoter, i.e. Dibella:No that will be the easy part. It will be easy to show where the money trail began and where it ended. That we all know.
The hard part for Oscar will be proving how he suffered damages due to Haymon. That will be the hard part. We know fighters left for Haymon, but this is a free world and Oscar did not protect his interests as he should have. The fighters left because they were no longer obligated to stay with him.

NY based boxing promoter Lou DiBella didn’t hold fire when I asked for comment regarding the lawsuit lodged by Oscar De La Hoya, along with Bernard Hopkins, against Al Haymon and cohorts.
“Eff that,” he said, using more dismissive and pointed language in indicating his distaste for the Golden Boy suit, and he then pointed out that he was instrumental in helping draft the Muhammad Ali act, which the suit alleges is being trampled upon. That document seeks to help keep managers from acting on behalf of promoters--as it was alleged, say, Carl King might have been inclined to do when repping a fighter, but also doing a deal with his father, the promoter Don King--in order to insure fighters are being represented in good faith, and receiving fair market value compensation for their services
DiBella took issue with the characterization that Haymon is in fact the promoter for Premier Boxing Champions cards, and said, “Why don’t you ask Brett Yormark (CEO of Barclays Center) who promoted the April 11 card which drew about 12,000 people to the arena?” DiBella also noted that he has some familiarity with miuch of the material within the suit, having graduated from Harvard Law School. Not to mention, as for the contention that Golden Boy is being harmed by Haymon’s supposed attempt at monopolization, DiBella pointed out that Golden Boy seems to be competed on an even playing field, being that they are putting on a high-profile card Saturday, in Texas, which will screen on HBO.

That also means Haymon also knows all the handshake and backroom deals GB made with HBO to dominate dates, to strong-arm other promoters out of their fighters, and how as a promoter GB leveraged those HBO dates to dominate the careers of non-Haymon managed fighters. Not when idiot fighters are on TV slipping up and calling Haymon their promoter or when fighters foolishly post their fighter purse check on Instagram and it's got Haymon's name on it. Something ONLY a promoter does (pay fighter purses). And Oscar's company when it was ran by Schaefer worked with Haymon. Which is why I said from day 1 this lawsuit is more dangerous then Top Ranks's because Golden Boy knows where the dead bodies are buried. They worked with Haymon NOT Arum so they know where and what to look for and now they have access to those documents.
The 'dirt' cuts BOTH ways. Escpecially when GB tries to show, as deanrw points out, their actual damage.Last edited by Sweet Jones; 02-18-2016, 11:33 AM.Comment

....PBC will get everything coming that's due to them.....I don't have much time for Oscar as well....but what Schaefer and haymon did to goldenboy was below the belt....blood sucking the company when the man was not fit and healthy to run his company....now if haymon has used up all the 200 million hedge fund with nothing to show for it...that's naughty...because that's companies or people's investments designed to actually make more money .....and if haymon and PBC have just washed that down the drain they deserve everything that comes there way......lose your life savings or companies money and see how you feelthe time he is wasting being petty, he can actually try building a star, focus on the established ones and build his company...why be a crab trying to bring some one else down.
OG's called it playa hating back in the day....Oscar has made a lot of money in boxing...why is he so worried about another man's pockets and company when he has one of his own which is a major player...I could see if his company was fledglingComment

Says the clown who said this lawsuit would get tossed out last year and that PBC has enough money to operate at a loss for 4 years. 10 months later they damn near broke. Where are the Feb, March PBC shows? Why are their investors getting ready for a class act lawsuit?
A NY investment fraud Atty compiling claims against Waddell & Reed told me the @premierboxing losses are part of potential class action suit

The NY Atty told me these are "mom and pop individual investors, not institutions, damaged by investments," to @premierboxing

No Golden Boy when operated by Schaefer did those things and is why he was forced to resign and sued. Oscar's entire beef with Schaefer is his CEO was doing this behind his back to screw his company and that his fighters that he thought were signed were not actually signed to Golden Boy instead one by one were being sent to Haymon and when he found out he forced Schaefer out and sued him.Comment

Im not concerned with any of the money issues...IM A FAN...we deserve fights on regular T.V.....PBC will get everything coming that's due to them.....I don't have much time for Oscar as well....but what Schaefer and haymon did to goldenboy was below the belt....blood sucking the company when the man was not fit and healthy to run his company....now if haymon has used up all the 200 million hedge fund with nothing to show for it...that's naughty...because that's companies or people's investments designed to actually make more money .....and if haymon and PBC have just washed that down the drain they deserve everything that comes there way......lose your life savings or companies money and see how you feel
I hate when people on this site act like Lawyers, Anti-Doping investigators, and financial analyst...none of us know what goes on behind close doors, in negotiations, business meetings, network, mamger meetings, aggreements, etc.
In the late 90s and early 2000s, there were some terrible PPV shows, mismatches that should have been on ABC, USA, or at least HBO or Showtime
Im so sick of all this money talk on a boxing forum....boxing is prizefighting...duh....they all are in it for the money, its just funny how people on this forum are happy about this situation...YOU WONT GET PAID FOR IT, WIN OR LOSE...its ridiculousComment

Dibella is EMPLOYED by Haymon and is one of the "sham" promoters he uses. Of course he's going to defend Haymon. But Dibella also said this lawsuit would get tossed out of court. Yet a year later here we are going to discovery. Fact is it's the worst kept secret in boxing that Haymon calls himself an Adviser to hide the fact that he is operating as both Manager and Promoter which is illegal. How will that be the easy part? PBC always has a promoter, i.e. Dibella:
