I think he's fighting for the belt so when he fights ggg it will look a lot better if both come in as champions. If he truly cared about belts why does Lara still have his belt?

I agree I was like WHAT the??? When Khan was announced but a lot of experts and BETTING ppl seem to give Khan a decent shot?? I don't but Canelo does suk at cutting of the ring and his stamina isn't the greatest if he keeps getting hit and then Khan is not their to hit back it will be a long night. Khan is way faster, taller by about 2" and longer range. Honestly HE would of been better taking a crappy MW. This fight is Lose/Lose. Except for the $$$$.

I still think ggg and Canelo are a go in Sept. Expect plenty of MIS direction BS talk from both sides until about June/July. Then the real negotiations begin...

I am a boxing fan, and then I am a Ward fan, much more than Canelo/GGG.

I support Canelo because Hypekin tried that exact same lame **** on Ward, and then he used the " A-side " excuse to justify it.

You don't get to disrespect proven fighters like Ward, and even Canelo, just because you happen to look like a 35yo teenager who can knock mofo's out.

I get the love for Golovkin, definitely..... I just don't get the hypocrisy and double-standards.

IMO this is a BS fight. Khan doesn't improve Canelo's resume. Canelo's resume at this point is okay. It's not great, but it's decent. He has some names on there. But all this 'marinating' BS needs to stop. I understand the business and making people wait to grow exciting, but there needs to be a sense of urgency with these superstars to fight each other. Khan's a step in the wrong direction. He's not even known for his wins, he's known for getting KTFO. Fight Golovkin soon.

Canelo didnt prove anything with the win against Cotto. It wasn't impressive because we knew GGG would probably KO Cotto. Nothing Canelo has done is bigger than GGG. Any opponent Canelo faced, GGG could beat (including Lara)

If that's the case - catch weights are only for a weight disparity - why are you upset Golovkin asked for a catch weight against Ward? There's a weight disparity there. The fact he was willing to let the others go up to 168 shows he respected Ward's ability. Again, that's a voluntary fight for no titles or belts.

Likewise, why are you not upset with Canelo - a fighter who comes in at 175 - imposing a CW on a MW who comes in at 172! But in your eyes, Canelo can do no wrong. No lineal champ has fought his mandatory opponent at MW for a world title at a CW. Apparently, rather than Canelo being a coward, it's more awful that a fighter once tried to set up a fight with an elite boxer in a weight class higher than him, which he'd be going to for the first time ever, for a voluntary fight, tried to arrange the fight for 3 years. But because he asked that fighter to lose 4 lbs and he'd need to put 4 on, this makes him worse than chicken **** Canelo who won't defend his lineal and world title at 160.

The principle, is identical.

The only difference is..... Golovkin was prepared to fight every man and his dog at 168, EXCEPT for Ward...... whereas Canelo is not calling out guys at 160 but then trying to drag Golovkin down.

It is EXACTLY the same..... Golovkin was either attempting to gain an advantage by draining Ward, or he was trying to avoid that fight..... Canelo is attempting to gain an advantage over Golovkin, or he is trying to avoid the fight.

It is exactly the same, there is no difference whatsoever.
