Since when does 97k PPV buys make you the A-side against a guy who does at least 500k+ on his own?

You don't know who'd generate more. GGG is the real champion.

Cant remember iF Mayweather was a mandatory, but good on him in making concessions but the fact is GGG is a mandatory to the WBC belt. He does not have to be restricted, we shall see if the WBC enforce its rule here. So the options right now are (1) GGG agrees to the weight set by Canelo (2) GGG doesn't agree (3) WBC asked Canelo to either drop the fight or fight GGG at 160 or canelo drops the belt willing if GGG doesnt want the fight at 155.

Looking at it that way GGG still would not get his marque fight.

Well that's the thing, GGG doesn't want to prove he's the bigger star, he wants to prove he's the best middleweight and unify the titles. He doesn't have to concede to anything if the's the mandatory challenger. So either fight at 160 or give up the belt, it's that simple.

What good is the WBC belt if he doesn't go through Canelo to get it? I thought GGG is looking for mass appeal.

I don't think Golovkin's situation is comparable so far as Canelo is concerned. Mayweather can certainly use his experiences to put forth an argument for Golovkin taking a risk by moving up in weight, but it is unfair to expect any fighter to take a risk by cutting weight.

When you move up in weight, you're taking a risk by fighting a bigger fighter but you're also able to enter the ring in the best possible condition. When you cut weight, you're essentially entering the ring as less than you usually are.

To be the boss in boxing you have to be the boss, to be a star you have to beat a star, and when you want to make a big splash you have to make concessions to the bigger star.

Some idiots act like Mayweathers career before he faced DLH didnt exist.....Floyd's first ppv was vs Gatti....Mayweather was a ten year pro..lineal champion in 2 divisons and 11 total defenses and in his third division...by the time he fought Oscar and he was a four division champion and had defeated 11 former current titleholders across those divisons...Floyd was far more proven than GGG is and still gave ODLH what he wanted because he felt he could beat him.

GGG and his team are going to have to deal with the harsh reality that GGG is NOT a household name, he isnt an international star and will have to make concessions if he wants to be a star and fight Canelo.....Canelo will cash in , with out with out him just like ODLH would have with or without Floyd
