Another article Dooley's written based on watching a YouTube vid of Hearn interviewed by Kugan.

This is boxing journalism in 2016. Pathetic.

Joshua is 7 to 1? Damn, I might have to throw a few quid on Martin, silly odds imo.

Don't buy it. Joshua gets a chance at the Heavyweight belt while fighting a man who can't even keep his conditioning up.

Martin's high ranking is comical. He didn't beat Glazkov. If you boxrec the rest of his opponents, the highest ranked HW he has beaten is #95 HW who's 37-12.

If AJ loses it would be a bigger upset than Khan beating Canelo in my opinion.

no they aren't silly odds. what would the odds be if martin had never fought glazkov? which essentially he didn't since nothing happened in that fight except he made himself look completely incompetent as a fighter until glass-gov's knee exploded.

You forgot the part where Hearn makes a decent fight (Rios) then has his fighter pull out to they can line up another cab driver.

for example joshua was a 50 to 1 favorite over undefeated gary cornish. is martin really that much better/proven then him? no. no he is not. the only difference is he went 2 rounds with glazgov and nothing happened. i'm almost positive cornish could have done the same given that glass-gov is a very tactical and cautious fighter. 7 to 1 is a damn good price to get for a certain win.

the ricky hatton bet special: if you have 7 houses bet them all on joshua and get another!

although, being now a PPV headliner, even his voluntaries will likely have names. i'd expect a brit like haye, price or chisora, or someone known in america like stiverne or jennings to be top of hearn's list
I guess it depends on how he progresses over his next couple of fights but you think he's ready for Stiverne?

My main concern with Joshua is that you can see the cogs turning whilst he's in the ring. It gives the impression that those neural pathways haven't been laid down enough for the movements to become unconscious and fluid. He is very critical of his performances and it's almost like he's over analysing and critiquing what he's doing whilst he's doing it.

I'd like to see him in against Chisora of the three Brits that you've mentioned. I don't think he learns anything against Price. That fight is likely to be all but over before they enter the ring. Sadly Price doesn't quite have the necessary mindset.

I wouldn't put him in with Haye at this point. Granted he's coming off a long layoff and he's the smaller man but he's a natural athlete with a good punch. Time it right for the future and that could be a Wembley sellout.

If Del Boy turns up focused, and that's a big if, I think he's been around the block enough to show Joshua a few things that he hasn't seen yet. It has the potential to be a good learning fight.

More of a boxing fan than particular fighters. Though admittedly one that hasn't paid too much attention to the heavyweight division for a while. I do like Fury. He's progressed a hell of a lot over the years and I'm eternally grateful to the man for his dethronement of Klitschko. Why do you ask?

Am I the only one questioning Hearns decision? Joshua is already a big money fighter with little money or positioning gained by winning a third rate world title from a fighter nobody had heard of. Martin on the other hand is a big, powerful unknown fighter and one good solid left hand could derail Joshua's career significantly. I'm interested in the fight and I'm glad it's made, buti don't look at the risk/reward favorably from Hearns perspective.
