Why does it look that way to you? Wilder never delayed the fight in any way. They didn't take turns with delays. Povetkin is the only one that delayed the fight. They were ordered to negotiate in October and Povetkin refused. They were ordered to fight in January and Povetkin refused.

The story from Povetkin's side is different.

            But what does it matter?

They're going to be fighting each other soon. No point arguing about why it didn't happen sooner. It's happening. May the best man win.

Finally, we will get to see if Wilder is the real deal.
I think Povetkin wins, but I don't care who wins as long as it is a good fight.
If Wilder wins, nobody can say he hasn't beat anyone.
With the rise of Fury and Joshua, no reason not to have some good fights down the road.

...but can anyone say with full confidence that Wilder has been able to use his length properly?

                I sure can't...

What is Povetkin's side and why do you believe it? It's easily verifiable fact that the WBC gave several months notice that negotiations were to commence in October and that they expected the fight to take place in December or January.

Despite these facts, haters and trolls have completely smeared and denigrated Wilder for months for being guilty of staying active while waiting for Povetkin to step up to the plate.

FACT: Wilder took a voluntary BEFORE negotiations were ordered to commence.

FACT: Povetkin defied the negotiation order and scheduled a fight for AFTER, making him unavailable.

FACT: Povetkin was offered the fight for January and refused, causing Wilder to take another voluntary.

What part of this do you dispute?

And if we allow people to lie and lie and lie about anybody involved with Haymon, is it fair that suddenly it "doesn't matter" when the truth ultimately prevails?

Nice to hear that it will be happening in April or May. Not that far away.

You started your post with a flawed interpretation of the WBC's ruling on this.

They said the negotiations had to begin by Oct. That was a deadline, not an appointment. The first delay was caused by Wilder deciding to make a voluntary defence before starting negotiations with Povetkin. He didn't have to do that, negotiations could have begun immediately. There was no requirement to wait till Oct.

You are also misinterpreting what I wrote in my comment. I said that Povetkin's side have a different story, but I didn't say that I believed their story over Wilder's.

I'm in no position to know who was telling the truth and who was lying. I assume it was six of one and half a dozen of the other. That's usually the case in situations like this.

I don't think that you are in any position to pass judgement on that either, unless you are going to tell me you are part of Haymon's team. In which case I wouldn't believe a word you said about it because I would know you were not impartial.
