I wouldn't call it a superfight either, the promoters, networks, etc. obviously do, though. But it's a treat and something to look forward to. And it has the makings of an upset.

They dont exist to give money away. If 3-1 was way off then people would load up on Canelo and the odds would move.

This isn't the mismatch the haters are making it out to be.
It really is given Khan's recent performances compared to Canelo's.

Yeah I know, but not with two world level fighters coming up against each other in a so-called super fight.

            2-1? seriously?
Pacquiao was a 4-1 favorite over Cotto. (EDIT: Odds might have closed tighter, can't find a good source. But he did open in the neighborhood of 4/1)
Tyson was about the same over Spinks.
Foreman about the same over Ali.
Hamed was 3-1 or so over Barerra (and similar odds were on Barrera over Pac).

Plenty of big fights have 3 or 4-1 favorites.

They're trying to sell the fight, that's all.

I've got £150 on Canelo and have zero doubt of the outcome.

It's a "super" fight because casuals don't appreciate how unlikely it is that Khan will win.

Yep, he's 2-1 with quite a few. I don't agree with it but that's what he is.
He was 2-1 vs Pacquiao. Don't remember the odds for Oscar, but those as well as Canelo are the only true super fights he has been in in my opinon.

Ok fair examples, but those two were based on Leonard and Ali being over the hill - and they were hardly in their prime for those fights.

Ali vs Frazier is a much better example of a genuine super fight.

Ok I think we have a different definition of super fights. I wouldn't call Pacquiao vs Cotto a super fight for instance.

Spinks admitted before the tyson fight that he didn't really want to fight him and did anyone believe Spinks would win? It was big because of Tyson, not Spinks.

Foreman vs Ali - one guy was so outside his prime that people think he would get killed. True greatness showed - Not a good example in my book.

hamed vs barrera ok yes fair enough.

it's the names involved that make it a super fight. Manny vs De La Hoya was a super fight too and everyone thought Manny was going to get killed
