loma's speed footwork defense are better than walters you only need to watch both of them fight to know that you fool. like I said loma's skill will make up for the lack of power. there no bias with me as I'm a fan of both guys.

I rate Walters highly. I didn't want this fight to happen this year because I think this fight is meant to be a unification fight but unfortunately HBO and Top Rank aren't giving Loma nor Walters (especially Walters) any fights.
Why didn't Top Rank just give Walters a rematch with Sosa? Sosa doesn't offer anything. What they should have done was get Loma-Corrales (for the WBA super and WBO) and Walters-Sosa (For the regular WBA) on the same card and then Loma-Walters would have a unification next year. Either early next year or after one more bout and meet mid-next year because Loma still has to defend against Berchelt or he will probably get stripped.
Hopefully Walters doesn't go irrelevant after Loma is done with him. Some good fights still to be made with him. I get the feeling they may not give Walters another chance though. Especially the way HBO's budget is going.

Loma will beat Walters convincingly and he will win Fighter of the Year!!
**** Salido. Bald headed cheating ******.

I would like to have a perma ban bet against someone. I wouldn't mind getting rid-off someone I find annoying forever; well they can make another account for all I care. I got Loma.

I just don't know who I like here I think strong cases can be made for both and that just makes the fight that extra bit more exciting.

Looking forward to this one please boxing Gods don't let anybody get injured or pull out

no screw that no more marinating. loma vs walters happening now is the right move.in fact this fight should have already happened back in april or june when walters turned it down. whoever wins the between kovalev/ward will be fighter of the year.I agree with everything else.

I'm not saying that it shouldn't of happened before, I do but this fight had so much more potential. After Loma beats Walters, people won't find anyone else at 130 as an exciting opponent. Even though there are some fighters that I think are just if not more threatening to Loma than Walters, but the Walters fight was the one with the most potential and they messed it up.

If Loma beats Walters he would have victories over two current/former World Champions and if he beats Walters convincingly that would be two impressive victories against solid and great opposition. It depends on the manner of how Loma beats Walters. I rate Walters highly. I don't think anyone at 126 or 130 other than Loma beats him. There are a few guys I think would have a chance, like Valdez (yeah, I rate Valdez really high) and a few others I prefer not to mention right now.
Ward fought Barrera and what's the others name again? Oh yeah, Brand. Neither guy was a champion and Ward even lost a couple of rounds to Barrera. If Ward beats Kovalev, which I'm starting to feel like he will and I'm a Sergey fan, he will have a very strong argument but his first two opponents don't help him. People don't like to give Loma credit for Martinez but Martinez is much more accomplished than both Barrera and Brand put together and Loma beat him more convincingly than Ward did them.
I personally think skill-wise Walters is better than Kovalev but he isn't more accomplished.
If Sergey beats Ward he will obviously have a strong case as well. It would also depend on the manner in which he were to beat Ward. That Chilemba fight could hurt him though. I'm a huge Kovalev fan but that fight reminded me just how basic he really is. Sergey is probably one of the most basic fighters I have seen that have made it this far. Then not sure how much credit people will give him for Pascal since nobody wanted to see it the rematch in the first place, but it surely has to count for something.

I think Carl Frampton is the leader for Fighter of year. I mean, he did beat a top 3 guy at Super Bantam, in Quigg, and then moved up to beat a top 5 guy at Featherweight, in Santa Cruz. He was the underdog in one of the fights and traveled for both fights. That will be extremely difficult to out-do. The only thing that hurts Frampton is that both fights were really close. He definitely won them, but they were by like 7-5 and 8-4. Either way that's impressive. And if Frampton fights one more time this year his case is even greater.

Some solid arguments to be made for sure.

I think Frampton is definitely in the top running for fighter of the year.

The timing for the Walters-Loma fight is cool. No need to have them wait longer. This is the way Vasyl wants to move his career anyway. Tough fights from the jump.

Lomachenko by somewhat close decision, maybe 7-5? I think he will outbox Walters there, but Walters will have some strong moments there. Couple of rounds will be very close to score

I just hope it will be a good, entertaining fight
