It'd be a shame if Povetkin starts getting sh**ted on if he loses, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit. Boxing fans really are the most negative critical people on the planet.

This is a great competitive fight, and whoever wins should be given full respect, as should the loser if they put up a good fight.

He has lots of experience & if he gets inside he will let his hands go. Wilder has improved & if he can keep Povetkin on the outside than he has a good chance of winning. The Klitschko loss was the best thing to happen to Povetkin. He got in better shape & took no easy fights to get back in this position. Comparing their last 4 opponents it's tough to predict what will happen... Stiverne, Molina, Duhaupas & Szpilka compared to Charr, Takam, Perez & Wach. Povetkin is 37 so he has age going against him but he looks in great shape. The key to Wilder winning is his jab & the key for Povetkin is getting inside & letting that left hook go...This is a great matchup. I got Povetkin winning by knockout in the championship rounds...
It's a classic matchup, tall outside boxer vs short inside fighter, and both have the speed and the power to end things for the other if they land. Wilder has the slight opening advantage given that Povetkin will have to work his way in to get off his shots, but if he takes his eye off the ball Povetkin could wreck him. Wilder can't afford to throw any sloppy shots that throw him off balance and leave him open for a counter. Everything has to be tight and well timed. Povetkin, if he's smart, could draw a reaction from Wilder the way Szpilka did and use that opportunity to close distance, where he's at a distinct advantage.

Wilder or Poverkin will have to wait for Fury if he wins , Fury is fighting some "mystery opponent" next if he wins.. but you can always fight for the IBF

He KOed also Lennox Lewis (and paid also for that )

Maybe because he was shot to shit when Povetkin fought him?

He has about as much relevance on Povetkin's record as Lyakhovich has on Wilder's. Probably less.

In the WBC maybe, which is pretty meaningless considering some of the garbage that gets on there. Still, Stiverne was a legitimate recognised top ten when Wilder fought him (I think he was around five or so) and Szpilka I think was in the top twenty. Duhaupas, despite his low rating, was actually quite a solid challenger and not nearly as bad as people made him out.

Povetkin has fought the marginally better opponents of late, but there's not this huge gap that people want to make out.
