He had stamina and defensive problems. He got used to watching everyone fall once he hit them and when he ran into Mercer and he didn't fall, so then Morrison was clueless and had never been hurt or anything before, did not know how to hold on, pace himself, etc.

I can't believe you guys haven't seen him fight. Nearly every one of his major fights was televised from some early ESPN fights on. I've already guessed there's a lot of teenagers here, though- hehe.

His best performances were getting up off the canvas to stop Ruddock and The Truth, and his relatively easy win over Foreman (who went on from the Morrison loss to KO Moorer). His fight with Hipp was really exciting, also. Morrison had a broken hand and jaw in the fight and stopped Hipp late. As someone said, it was KO or be KO'd with Morrison. He could have been a much better fighter with a better trainer and team, but he was exciting while he lasted.

And yes, he got HIV from ****ing too many Vegas strippers probably. He was positive with it when he fought Lewis, and he bled in the fight. Scary.
Yes ofcourse! He came back from a broken jaw to stop Joe Hipp late in the fight! What great courage he showed, Ali could not do that when he fought Norton. Who has come back from a broken jaw to defeat there opponent like that?
        Later brother brologs.

You know what is almost as impressive as that hook is that Ruddock was standing by the count of 3! I kid you not! I put the fight up in the fancy lounge a couple of months back. It was a really good fight and both guys were knocked down.

...Tommy was a badass and if he had not partied til all hours of the night there is no telling how well he would have done. He had stamina issues for sure. He was beating Ray Mercer's ass in their fight and ran out of gas and got caught. Athleticaly and talent wise Mercer couldn't hold his jock. Pinklon Thomas says that Tommy easily punched harder than Tyson.

I remember watching a couple of Joe Hipp fights before he ran into Morrison. I can't quite remember the opponents but it might have been David Bey, Marvin Camel or Jesse Shelby. After Hipp won one of those fights he was interviewed and he said something like "guys don't think that I look like a fighter, but when they get in the ring and fight me, when it's over they've changed their mind". Hipp was a Native American, maybe the best ever among heavyweights. He was not fast on his feet and always had a lot of flab around his midsection but punched with great accuracy and had decent power. Morrison's final assault on Hipp was something to see, as Hipp listed to 1 side like a luxury liner that was broad-sided by another ship and was sinking. He looked like 1 of the famous pictures of the Andrea Doria:

Tommy's immense appetite for women and partying was his downfall.
He was, what I call an after-hours person.
