Tommy Morrison

Tommy took some good shots from joe hipp and did not go down, every time he got knocked down he got back up, the mercer fight he got back up. Tommy's chin was not that bad. what about fighters that are 0-25 and lost all by first round knoukout.Comment

Heed the kid he's right. From what I remeber would go to the body as well as he also has a few ko's by body punches, that shows good power.Originally posted by Kid AchillesGo to google.video.com and search: morrison ruddock. You will see a great fight, and one of his most well known. Morrison had a great left hook and mentally was very tough. Not much chin or stamina however.Comment

Joe Hipp? Dude..as I said, I love Morrison and enjoyed his career but to say his chin wasn't that bad is wrong. He is lucky his head was still attached after Mercer. I think what you mean is that he had huge heart. I would agree with that, but unfortunately, his chin and conditioning were not there.Originally posted by DYNAMITE-DYE-92Tommy took some good shots from joe hipp and did not go down, every time he got knocked down he got back up, the mercer fight he got back up. he didnt get up in the mercer fight dude. he was down and out. he was still bobbing and weaving in his corner like 5 minutes later while his corner was telling him the fight was overOriginally posted by DYNAMITE-DYE-92Tommy took some good shots from joe hipp and did not go down, every time he got knocked down he got back up, the mercer fight he got back up. His chin wasn't all that bad. The Mercer fight shows him getting caught against the ropes, out on his feet, taking about 10 clean, flush power punches. That could happen to any young, inexperienced fighter in with an inexperienced ref and a hard puncher.Originally posted by marvdaveJoe Hipp? He got rattled easy, but he always got right up- other than against Mercer. Bennt was stopped because of the three knockdown rule, he definitley could have continued as they were flash knockdowns- even the last he got up by like the 2 count. And against Lewis, Mills stopped it because his eye looked bad and he was starting to take too much punishment, not because of his chin. Morrison was fine after getting knocked down against Lewis even.
I'll never really understand why people call his chin "glass." How about guys like Rahman, who get put to sleep with ONE PUNCH? Yet nobody calls their chin's "glass." Never happened to Tommy. And as I said, he only got put down for a count one time, and that was poor refereeing, without a doubt.Comment
